And still an undrafted free agent. Who became a starter in the NFL. MY MIND HAS GONE BLANK ON THE UT DB that did it a few years ago. He's still starting. Butch Jones years...he caught a lot of hell.....shyt! Never mind...Cam Sutton!Arian Foster was a scholarship RB. 3 star our of Mission Bay HS
True. The percentages are low, but if a kid feels thos is his best shot....We've had lots of UFAs make rosters and get playing time from UT. The percentages from PWO to starter are just super low, but make great stories. Baker Mayfield, Stetson Bennett.....

I actually liked Foster when he was here. Fumbled too much, but could be electrifying at times too.
Excuse my bouncing here...I'm drinking
What kind of fuzzy math are you using. According to Max preps he had 2413 yards with 317 attempts. He missed one game so I think with a playoff game he had 10. 32 ain’t 50. More urban legend stuff on our boards. If it was 11 games even less. Btw he only shows up on the 2nd page nationally. One kid in TN had 3200 yards and evidently lived.
That makes UT very different than many other schools.
I've heard this many, many times. I've never known if it's actually true that walk ons don't have some of the actual amenities that scholarship players do (at any school, not just UT).
My brother was a walk on at UT for the cross country and track team years ago (I KNOW, I KNOW, it's cross country and track so who cares), but he was not limited at all. Tons of free stuff, unlimited access to the weight room and nutritional stuff, etc. Maybe a former walk on football player is on this board and could answer
In games I watched Bishop he had 50+ touches. I've seen him play quite a few times in the last several years. He had 460 touches in 2021.
Things were very different in football as recently as the early 2000s. Much of the world has changed since then. The military and everything else I suppose.I've heard this many, many times. Lots of kids play bad competition all over the country and don't put up those numbers. Has anyone seen some of the competition that Arch Manning plays against? And he has some good players around him. There's not another player on Karnes' team that will sniff a D-1 football field.Once again in 21’ 12 games 441 Carries for 37 a game. 37 ain’t 50 or 60 either. They write this stuff down you know.
As a prospect starting last year I started watching his games on Diamond Clear. This years games are still out there for viewing FOR FREE. What I found remarkable was the minimal number of plays ended with significant contact. Running out of bounds, ankle tackles and glancing blows rather than going for the hard yards was common. Not an accident probably. Best comp I can think of was Emmet Smith. A few goal line and short yardage plays ended badly but not a lot.
