I'm not sure who I had this conversation with but it was about state of TN kids being a different breed than kids in Alabama. They already have several of the Top 10 in their state committed while kids here think they can keep dragging out the process. I hope what Coach Pruitt does is take another RB or LB that he potentially was giving to Hodge and move on. My guess is Hodge won't be landing that huge offer or he will be a fallback to higher ranked guys at other places.
We are being objective on this subject. You are not. Purdue isn't anywhere near Tennessee as a football program. Not today, not 20 years ago, not 50 years ago and won't be in 20 or 50 years from now. Tennessee FB is a Top 10 program historically and no matter how badly we suck at any given time we're still Top 25, even on a bad day. Purdue is a bottom tier FB program, now and forever, in a power 5 conference. That's the truth. What's a joke is the inability to have an objective conversation on this board that pertains to the Vols. That's the joke.
I'm still speaking on southern recruits watching them get completely outclassed by a SEC, whom we happened to beat. Iowa boatraced Ohio State a year earlier, and actually send kids to the NFL. Did kids take notice of their program as well? That's a good point but I would counter with the tie the Auburn game was played (noon) on what network (SEC) compared the primetime game Purdue played in which they whipped a top 3 Ohio State's a$$. Exposure like that matters in recruiting, imo.
i tried to see your point yesterday but you keep doubling down.I didn't compare tradition. I didn't compare facilities. I didn't compare finances. I specifically compared coaches and perception as of 2019.
"Purdue is a bottom tier FB program, now and forever, in a power 5 conference." Honestly, what are we? We've lost to Vanderbilt three years in a row. That' what I'm talking about. Kids don't see as much difference in our football programs as you believe.
Did you honestly think that you could say that today's recruits view Tennessee and Purdue at about the same level and people here would be objective about it? We all know you have some fandom for Maryville football and that's fine. If Tee does not want to come here, that's fine. I bet if you polled some other local kids, that they would not share that opinion, but that's just me.What's a joke is the inability to have an objective conversation on this board that pertains to the Vols. That's the joke.
So you mean to tell me coaches didn't line up to work for a lame duck AD, lame duck chancellor and a fan base fresh off of a revolt. You're here just for the sake of disagreeing I see.Yea. So what number was Coach Pruitt on our head coaching list? #1? This is what I'm talking about. You guys hold us on such a high, unrealistic standard. Which may be the reason some are perpetually disappointed when recruits go elsewhere
He was very thrilled to compete and earn a UT offer last summer. He appears to be a little butthurt IMO. Probably barely hears from the assistants, and likely doesn't get much time with Pruitt when he visits. Meaning he's not a priority and he knows it.i tried to see your point yesterday but you keep doubling down.
they may not see the difference in the results category. but we're simply not competing for "kids" with purdue.
Tee Hodge may or may not be great. but he is holding out for MUCH bigger things than Purdue. and he apparently has no interest in going to TN currently. and he has yet to get the offers he REALLY wants.
if he winds up at purdue, it's because he never got the offers he wanted, and we recruited over him. and he'll settle for Purdue.
that's how "kids" get to purdue.
