TN vs Alabama, maybe not such an unrealistic a win

They are 4th with 12 points allowed for defense. They aren't number one, but seems like alabama will have to have a really off game in order for us to win.

Ketucky had several injuries during the game that helped this out but regardless they can't hold out as long as our team can.

Let's see, you were beaten by Fla with them playing their back up QB, you were beaten by Ga who didn't have their #1 or #2 RB or their #1-#2-#3 Wrs so now you're going to beat Bama because they were helped by KY's injuries???? I want some of what you're smoking.

Don't try to reason it.

So I was watching the Kentucky vs Alabama game and for a team that is pretty bad this year I was impressed by what Kentucky did to them in the first quarter. Kentucky wasn't able to score themselves in the first quarter but they also kept Bama from scoring as well, to top it off Kentucky forced two Alabama turnovers deep in Kentucky's territory. While the final outcome of that game was ultimately 48-7 Alabama, that sure makes me wonder what the VOLs can do against Alabama. We've done an excellent job this year at forcing turnovers, we're hitting hard, and we've proven that we can go the full 60 minutes and not quit. I'm definitely not as skeptical of this match-up as I was earlier this year. Just offering a bit of my own perspective based on what I saw today.

Go Vols!

You got to be kidding :eek:lol:

You are correct, they are totally beatable this year. They are showing inexperience in key positions and making lots of mistakes. Sloppy ball. I stated this in the NCAA forum during the game and got gang tackled for it. Don't let these ESPN sheeples fool you. You know what your eyes are telling you. If you get the QB dirty they will go down. That kid has never had a dirty spot on him his entire football career. He has NEVER BEEN HIT. In fact bama has played nobody. Certainly nobody as physical as we have become. Put that kid on the ground... then put him on the ground again, and then put him on the ground again...and then do it again, and again, and again. I don't care if you have to rush 11... do it. Fill that kids eyes with mud and they will go down. Lets not make it harder for our boys than necessary though. Just as georgia...let it play out.

You guys have REALLY got to temper your expectations for the rest of this year. The way I see it, we will be damn lucky to reach 6-6 and we'll probably wind up somewhere around 5-7

South Carolina: Loss
Alabama: Loss
Missouri: Toss up
Auburn: Loss
Vandy: Toss up
Kentucky: Win

Missouri is a toss up? and Auburn is a loss? You definitely have that backwards at best as far as difficulty is concerned.

I'm convinced threads like this are a big contributor to the sky is falling meltdown threads we get after every loss. People start to believe, just to come crashing down.

No way at all we beat bama this year.

You might have noticed I said "if" during my post yesterday where it concerned the rest of the schedule. I maybe crazy but I am not stupid. Do I realistically think we will win out the rest of the season? No, but I also know that anything is possible in the game of football.

Its why they actually play the games.

Didn't say it was a guaranteed win. What I'm saying is that I watched a bad team like Kentucky shutout Albama for an entire quarter and force two turnovers. If Kentucky can do that with one quarter, we can do it with all four if we bring our A game.

Good grief. You can't tell me that Bama showed up last night like they were playing for the NC.

They showed up flat. Kicked it in gear. Nothing more, nothing less.

Alabama took it easy on Kentucky in the 2nd half and still had 668 yards in offense to Kentucky's 170. Yes it's Kentucky but I saw nothing that would make me think we have a snow balls chance in hell against them.

This just in, Hell froze over!

Go Vols!

And as I already said, saying UK "forced" those 2 turnovers is generous. Alabama had those fumbles after driving deep in UK territory, and Alabama receivers dropped several passes that had no UK defenders anywhere near them.

UK holding Bama scoreless in the first quarter means as much as us hanging with Oregon for half the first quarter.

You don't just fumble the ball after you've caught it or it's been handed off to you while you're running down the field. If a Kentucky player runs into you, strips the ball from you, or tackles you causing you to fumble the ball then they forced a turnover, period. I'm not sure why you keep calling it "generous".

C'mon fellas , we all know that we can't go off one games performance. Some teams just match up better with others! One game at a time Vols. GO Vols!!

With Alabama ONLY scoring 48 points, I see them as vunerable this season. What a huge win this will be for us.

Hell, we might even be able to beat them with our 2nd string players......
We'll dial in this win, what a bore it will be.
