To all the Oregon fans

I'm still not convinced Bama will make it to the NC game. Especially with Ohio State and Clemson out there. A one loss team from the SEC will not be in the NC game if there are two undefeated teams remaining from the other BCS teams.

Who is gonna beat them in the SEC?

They do have a pretty easy schedule with the exception of LSU. Still LSU is a home game.

Georgia probably has the best chance. And assuming GA wins the SEC championship game, an undefeated Clemson would likely get the bid over GA given the loss to them earlier this year.

Assuming the Clemson runs the table a stretch. They always fold at least once.

Can't argue with that. Still who's going to beat Clemson? FSU @ Clemson? They do have USCe on the road for the last game of the year. That might be the one game to take them down. Florida St usually fold their tent during the season.

I think he means that they always lose one game they shouldn't.

My thoughts are, there are two teams in the country that could score 40 on Alabama and UGA is not one of them.

If you want your ducks in Pasadena, you're going to need Ohio State to lose. Clemson will remind us all that they're Clemson will remind us all that they're Clemson before the season is over.

Basically, I'm counting on the ACC to eat themselves, the Pac 10 to be really important late in the year, and Ohio State getting caught like they almost did several times last year.

That's how Oregon plays Alabama for it all.

Would Oregon really need Ohio State to lose? They're leading them in the coaches poll currently (by about 100 votes and a first place vote).

They also play every (currently) ranked PAC-12 team save #23 Arizona St (so as of now #15 UCLA, #20 Washington, #5 Stanford, and possibly the South winner...so either a ranked UCLA again or Arizona State).

As far as current rankings, Ohio State plays only (currently) #14 Michigan, #16 Northwestern, maybe mention Wisconsin but they're just outside the rankings, and likely either Northwestern or a lower ranked Michigan again in the conference championship game.

It seems like, at the moment, if the two win out (and Oregon continues taking care of business in the manner it usually does) then Oregon should be getting the nod over Ohio State, no?

I think voters look at Oregon's offense as a gimmick still to be honest, and a "traditional team" that is undefeated would scoop up a ton of East Coast Votes. Just my .02

Oregon still plays Stanford and UCLA who are both ranked pretty high.

If Oregon is undefeated they are in.

Chanting "we want Bama!"

No, no you really don't. You don't want any part of that crap so just shut up and continue to win games in that crap conference.

There are three leagues that matter in football. The AFC, The NFC, and the SEC West.

Hahahaha. How trite.

And this is coming from a fan who roots for a team that won exactly one Big 12 conference title - ever. A team that has a losing all-time bowl record. A team that has a losing record against the Pac10/12. A team that had to run from its own conference with its tail between its legs because it could never figure out how to get out of the shadow of Texas, let alone figure out how to beat them (yeah, that would be a 31% win percentage against your big brother). A team that would be a shadow in the SEC West if it weren't for Johnny Manziel. A team that WILL be a shadow in the SEC West when Johnny graduates. And a team whose fanbase has no idea how to treat a college superstar, preventing him from even going to class or walking down the street, because you haven't had a superstar in decades, and all of you freaked out like a 5 year old girl in the presence of Justin Bieber. AND a team that cancelled a home-and-home with Oregon because your athletic program wanted nothing to do with a 50 point loss to Oregon - twice. A team that has about the same number of players in the NFL as Oregon. A team that has 5 fewer NFL Hall of Famers than Oregon.

You win a single big game - last year - and all of a sudden you're going to pound your chest and talk crap about Oregon on a Tennessee website, of all places? Talking as if you already belong to the conference that your team needed WAY more than it needed you. Talking as if you've conrtibuted to the SEC prestige in the slightest.
I've been a college football fan for a while; and guess how many big Texas A&M moments I can recall from the last 15 years? Two - both of which occured last year, being your 'Bama win and your Heisman win.

I'm fine with talking crap. And I don't mind general yapping from teams like LSU, Alabama, Stanford, etc. They've earned that right and I respect their accomplisments and teams in these last few years.

But cool story. Flame on.

Four BCS bowls in a row and counting.
Five 10 win seasons in a row and counting.
One losing season since 1993.

You can have your team. I'm quite comfortable with mine. And as a college football fan, if you are in the slightest, you better hope for a UO-UA game. Because it would be awesome. Go Ducks, and go Vols!

I'd trust A&M to stop Oregon before I'd trust Oregon to stop A&M

Based on what statistical analysis, though? Oregon is giving up 9 points per game. They're giving up 3.4 yards a rush, and 4.5 yards per completion. They're top 25 in almost every important statistical category DESPITE our defense having to play more minutes than...wait for it...every other team in the country. All of them. That means they're facing more snaps, more plays, more runs, more passes, whatever. Still, their defense is killing it. And that is all considering that the Oregon offense scores at will, which means teams are desperate to keep up.

Meanwhile, aTm is giving up a million yards and points to an Alabama team that, while absolutely loaded, isn't known for offensive output. And teams like Rice and Sam Houston State.

Sure, Oregon's opponents aren't world beaters right now; but they've still absolutely suffocated 2 AQ conference teams, the way they should have.

Hopefully we'll get to see Bama and Oregon play. Oregon would be able to hang with them. The problem with the NC game is you give Nick Saban a month to game plan!

Exactly. The ONLY thing that has proven to consistently stop the UO offense in the last 4 years has been long layovers. That's the one thing I fear most about 'Bama in the title game - Saban's mind. It's the thing any offensive team should fear. Time off is usually a death knell for offensive rhythm, be it peewee, high school, college, or, pro.

A&M's defense may be just as bad as ours last year. Difference is Manziel is better than Bray and dude is a playmaker.

Oregon's defense is legit, and their offense can go toe to toe with A&M's.

It'd probably be along the lines of 59-38. Oregon.

Your d line is a little suspect. Other than that I don't see much weakness. Mariota can't start slow like be did Saturday. Has to work on being more consistent throwing the ball.

Linebackers would be big time tested and the back end would too but that's a good defense overall in my opinion.

Absolutely worth a bump and a like. I was all for A&M flipping those arrogant longhorns the bird and telling both ESPN and the longhorn network to go f&&k themselves - boy was I wrong. The A&M cowpatties are proving themselves to be a bloviated goat smelling dried leather bunch of texas blowhards much like their longhorn sisters.
