To Hell With Boise State.

I know they just beat Virgina Tech in a thriller but it matters not to me.

They play one more decent team the rest of the season and are in no way worthy of playing for a National Title.

I do think that they can play with anyone on any given Saturday, they proved that tonight, even though Tech is probably a second tier team.

I cannot imagine them being able to survive a week to week schedule that the automatic qualifying teams have got to go through.

A well coached team, they show up prepared and they would be a good team in any conference but not title contenders and them beating one, maybe two top 25 teams and then beating a bunch cupcakes is garbage.

They should be ecstatic just to make BCS game.

The next best chance is Florida State in my opinion. Or Miami.

I like FSU's chances more because of Ponder though. He's really good. Not that Jacory Harris is bad.

That's debatable. There's a legitimate argument that in a BCS conference they'd struggle to make a BCS bowl, ever. As it stands, they've got an excellent chance of going to the National Championship if they beat Oregon State.

Be honest. you would have said the same about VT a few hours ago.

I am not saying BSU is the best team in the country, I'm just saying they've earned respect and a place in the top 5 for their long string of success until someone beats them.

And that is an argument, nothing more. There's another legitimate argument that being in a BCS conference would have them faring about as well as Illinois or someone similar.

But that's not the point.

The point is, they play in the WAC, have a stadium that holds 30,000 and are playing with 3* recruits.

Are they amazing? Yes.

Can they compete with anyone? Yes.

Could they do it regularly? No.

It's so much more draining to play better opponents every week. Physically on the players and mentally on the coaches coming up with game plans. There would be so many more injuries if they were getting hit by 240lb linebackers running 4.50's instead of 225lb linebackers running 4.65's

Boise State would smack FSU in my opinion. The discrepancy in coaching is drastic.

That aside, if Boise State runs the table, by seasons end they'll be the #2 or #1 ranked team in the nation. At that point, there's no way to justify them being left out of the title game.

There's only 3 teams that can keep Boise out of the title game, and that's Alabama, Ohio State, and Florida. Teams ranked high enough and with strong enough schedules to pass Boise in the poles if the run the table. 2 of the 3 would have to go undefeated though, and I personally don't see that happening.
