To Hell With Boise State.

Boise State would smack FSU in my opinion. The discrepancy in coaching is drastic.

That aside, if Boise State runs the table, by seasons end they'll be the #2 or #1 ranked team in the nation. At that point, there's no way to justify them being left out of the title game.

There's only 3 teams that can keep Boise out of the title game, and that's Alabama, Ohio State, and Florida. Teams ranked high enough and with strong enough schedules to pass Boise in the poles if the run the table. 2 of the 3 would have to go undefeated though, and I personally don't see that happening.
That's going to far. Any team from any BCS conference, outside maybe the Big East, will jump Boise if they go unbeaten.

Boise is going to be playing for the national championship this season.

Instead of complaining, write your local congressman asking him to promote a playoff system for college football.

honestly, they can't do squat to help that either

(and if they had anywhere near that power, personally I'd rather they use it to prevent next year's NFL lockout)

There needs to be some way they can join a conference in just football.

Nope. Pac-10 makes the most sense geographically, but they would never allow it. Will be a cold day in hell before they invite BSU over. I'm shocked the Pac invited Utah, and BSU makes Utah look like Stanford as an academic institution. At least that carries Salt Lake.

Big XII presidents would never have it, because they'd have to share more of the pie. Big Ten, same reasons as Pac-10. The rest are too far away.

The MWC would be the best they could do, but with BYU and Utah on the way out, it's unlikely the MWC becomes an AQ conference.

No they wont, mark it down.

Check the top 10 rankings and tell me which team is good eough and has a manageable enough schedule to go undefeated?

Nobody else in the BCS is going unbeaten this year.

I wonder what happens if TCU goes undefeated again... Their schedule is far tougher than Boise's, but they're ranked lower.

I'm not saying they're gonna go undefeated, I'm saying they would jump Boise if they did.

Well that's irrelevant, because outside of Boise, no BCS team is going undefeated this year. After Boise, Ohio State has the best chance.

I'm not blaming Boise or any of the conferences, or even arguing the best way for Boise to get into a conference. I'm just saying I think the fairest way for Boise to compete for the BCS Championship is for them to find their way into one of its conferences. Also, despite the hurdles they'd face, I'm confident that would be far easier than implementing a playoff system.

You follow VT much? They seem to lose at least 2 games they shouldn't each year. They got an early start on it tonight.

I'll be nailing a Playboy Playmate on a pile of my lotto winnings before Boise joins a major conference.

I do feel confident about seeing a CFB playoff in my lifetime.

They SHOULDN'T have lost to the number 3 team in the country??

Virginia Tech is good. Very good. All i'm saying

"Oh they lost tonight"

Cool.

i think then you get stuck in the question of can you justify a team jumping ahead of two teams ranked 1 and 2 that are both undefeated

that's a pretty hard move to make honestly

The powers that be that control this decision are like the old gezsers in small towns that keep it small and managable for that reason. As Milo is around 20 I'd say he's made an accurate statement given most fans agree with him.

Who knows what effect losing tonight has on their confidence, they could mail it in two weeks vs ECU and get stunned right before traveling to a Boston College team that is better or just as good as Boise is on defense

Game is at Utah this year though. They do have a halfway decent homefield advantage.

Both teams just has impressive wins. Give it time. I think that game will be a coinflip.

i can get on board with it being a coinflip; just not a sure-loss
