Today Only..I'm A Notre Dame Fan....

The guy knows his stuff, no denying that. And he has known it for a while.

I want to see him in the college ranks after a few years, to decide really how good of a college DC he is. If they are there when the probation smoke clears he will have no problem having talent to coach.

Agreed. We will find out in a few years if the game has passed him up.

It's not, and I'm not saying Kiffin has done great by any means, but I doubt it's as simple as that. Last year, USC basically quit after they realized they weren't winning the Pac 10. I have little doubt that the players that signed there expected to play for a national title almost every year they were there. I'm not sure it's easy to keep them motivated when they realize they can't even go to a bowl game. I'm not sure we'll be able to accurately judge Kiffin for a few years.

He's been a head coach for more than three seasons. When can we start judging his abilities?

I think many of us have been judging him for a while now.

:bash:

I'm not sure you could find too many head coaches that wouldn't trade their current coordinator for Monte.

No they saw the film of the Hawaii game..... Haha! We will see who beats down the doors after his son is forced to make a needed change.

He could leave USC tonight and have a job tomorrow morning in the NFL or college.

For those that got to see the end of the USC game against ND did you notice the look on Kiffen's face when defeat was eminent. They got a close-up and frankly his expression was one of fear. It is not that close of a secret that Pat Haden is looking for a way get rid of Kiffen and losing to ND who USC had 9 straight wins against was great ammo.

It was an 8 game win streak.

Did you get anything right?

Kiffin*

I'm proud of this team getting bowl eligible, but there's nothing special about the teams that got us there. All the teams that made our schedule tough beat us.

As did all the teams that made USC's schedule tough! They also lost to some that were not tough. So DD beat who he was supposed to and kiffy didnt, that hurts you I know ! Once again we see where your loyalty is! Surely you can see your own bias! You would never defend UT and DD this way but you never miss a chance to defend your kiffys!

If the situation was reversed and we were ranked to start the season and failed the way USC did you would use it to show your love for kiffy. If kiffy did what DD did and beat who he was supposed to, you would show your love for kiffy! Try to show some love for the team you supposedly pull for!

Why cant you just go be a USC/kiffy fan, its clear that is what you are so why not just admit it and move on! Are you ashamed or what?

I am beginning to question his ability to manage a program. He may be a lifetime coordinator in the NFL like his pops. I think his unwillingness to delegate playcalling responsibilities is a hinderance for success.

They interviewed Haden during the ND game, and he was singing Kiffin's praises. Then again, I believe USC was ahead at that point.

Anyway, I don't see Haden firing Kiffin soon apart from some monumentally stupid blunder(s).

I was actually talking about Monte. If Lane doesn't make it at USC, he'll have to go the OC route to get another opportunity.
