Todd Gurley suspended indefinitely

The point of the quote wasn't that Chubb would be blamed.

It was that for whatever reason Gurley decided to do this, it was a dumb and/or selfish on his part...especially with consideration to how much of it he was signing.

It was a bad decision on his part that impaired/left his school (and his team) in more difficult positions (than had he not).

It may have been selfish, but certainly wasn't dumb. Why wouldn't he? As I've stated several times...it was the best decision for him. Every one else was trying to use him...the school, agents, the whole industry...why wouldn't you make a little money, take a break before the draft, get healthy...it makes all the sense in the world if you were him. Nobody gives a hoot about the stupid heisman. He will go high, just like manziel, just like clowney. It makes no difference at this point.

How stupid was Mr. Allen in reporting this. There goes a chunk of his livelihood and for what? To sit Gurley down for a few months and watch him make millions in April?

Just seems really foolish on the rat as well.

Plus he is now the most hated man in Georgia

I'm sure this has already been asked and I'm not fully aware of the particulars in both cases but how is this different from Manziel last season that got a slap on the wrist?

From what I understand there was no proof of Johnny Football receiving money and it has been rumored that there is a money trail on the Gurley stuff. Even a signed contract.

How? There's evidence he took money. If they allow that can't enforce it on any team. Flood gates are open.

The amount of money is going to be hard to prove without paper trail.

GA/GURLEY is claiming less than $400 which on the NCAA improper benefit rule is a 1 game suspension.

the value of a benefit ranging from $100 to $400 is 10 percent of a season (one game for football). Anything greater than $400 to $700 is 20 percent (two games), and anything greater than $700 would be 30 percent (rounded up to four games) with the option for the NCAA to add more to that if deemed necessary.

I thought I read there was a significant paper trail that was significantly more than $1000 but I can't remember where I read that.

TMZ report claims $2000 or more

Maybe that's where I saw it. I don't read TMZ but maybe it was referenced in the article I read. I was thinking I saw a more detailed report saying how much he was paid for each item. But , i'm old and can't remember much these days.

On another note, do you guys get your freshman QB back this week?
