When I got the Volnation text, I downed 4 celebratory beers (I was out eating Mexican at the time...so it only seemed right to drink anyway). This has made my weekend.

We will see a recruiting class in 2014 that will put the Vols back in contention not only in recruiting but on the field also.

The Fooley era really affected the program, but Butch has been spectacular in righting the ship. I kept buying in to what the last staff was selling, but I guess it was just Dools gold. God bless Butch and company!

I think the new NCAA rule which pretty much makes it hunting season on these poor kids year round may be part of why they're committing early and *may* indicate a stronger commit than it has in years past, especially for legacies. Todd Kelly Sr. spoke about his dislike of the rule change and how he'd already switched Todd's phone number and forced all calls to go through him. That was in a Feb. article KnoxNews ran.

Of course it will be different for different kids because Kelly Sr. has been through the old process and knows how recruiting in general works. He's protecting his kid but a lot of other parents who've never been through it may be more lost about how they should go about it as well as fearful they might hurt their kid's chances (though parental intervention shouldn't hurt at all, a lot of parents may not know that).

And this is "shocking" to you?

This completely caught me off guard. I never got that good of a feeling regarding TKJr and just figured that we would be brides maided again. He often said that everything was even and he wouldn't just follow in Dad's footsteps.

This news is the best part of my week and I'm leaving for PCB in the morning

Can you enlighten me on the new rules. I'd like to know them cause I haven't heard them.

As I recall, they eliminated the restrictions on the amount of text messages coaches could send to recruits...which would likely lead to a recruit receiving a barrage of texts on a daily basis. There is probably more to it than just the text message situation, but that's all I'm aware of.

Todd SR is a true VFL. I think CBJ is on the right track and it just shows how incompetent DD really was. Talk about all hat and no cattle is an understatement.

Who in the NCAA thought that would be a good idea.....
