Tom Brady is better than Peyton Manning! I dont understand how anyone can argue it.


If the Patriots hadnt lost Rodney Harrison, Richard Seymour, Tedy Brushi, Laurence Maroney, & Adalius Thomas this year they would have won the division!

I have no idea how in the world that supports your argument. You're saying if the Patriots had the defense of the past (that was very good) they would have EASILY won the division... WITHOUT Tom Brady and with a BACKUP that hardly plays at all and put up Tom Brady numbers. Get a clue. Brady is good - but this year exposed him and showed the Patriots franchise is bigger than him and the team is fine without him.

You're basically helping everyone that is saying Manning > Brady by your 2nd paragraph but your first paragraph is blindly stating a comment that doesn't make any sense compared to what you state in your post in the next paragraph.

I wasnt using my second paragraph as my argument for my first one! i was stating that if those guys were healthy then they would have won the division.

You also cant say that Manning has never had good defenses & that's the reason why they didnt win more Super Bowls. Manning has had average to good defenses.

Wrong. He's had average to decent defenses and bad defenses... with 1 good defense thrown in there. Brady on the other hand has a elite to good and decent defenses... but mostly good ones.

The fact that Matt Cassel did so well... with a team that lost so much on defense... doesn't not help Tom Brady's argument in anyway and shows he's not as valuable as maybe some thought.

since 2001 when Tom Brady took over for N.E., the Patriots defense has averaged to be 13th best while Indy's defense has averaged to be 15th best. WOW!! that is a real big difference (sarcasm). Last years undefeated regular season Patriots team was ranked 4th in defense, guess where Indy's was ranked!? Try 3rd. So why couldnt Peyton go undefeated with a better defense??

That was their one good year defensively. I don't know - why couldn't Brady win the super bowl with the best offense in NFL history? Someone with a good defense has to lose.

But most importantly - it's called a head coach who is twice the coach Dungy is. It's also called team chemistry. It's also called gelling with new WRs/TEs.

And I'd also like to know what those defensive stats are based on? Overall defense? Yards allowed? Points allowed? I'm positive it doesn't consider takeaways. That's not a solid argument.

The Patriots have one of the best franchises in NFL history - and that starts from the top... you can clearly tell they know what they're doing... always getting high picks in the draft and signing free agents that no one really wants and they turn out to be great and even ones that people want badly (Moss). Brady has been the benefit of a great head coach and whoever is in charge of personnel is a genius.

It's pretty easy. With another an the pays still win their superbowls. Without Peyton the Colts don't.

Actually it wasnt, because in 2002 the Patriots defense was 23, Indy's was 8th. 2003 Pat's was 7th, Ind'ys was 11th, 2005 Pat's was 26th, Indy's was 11th, 2007 Pat's was 4th, Indy's was 3rd, this year Pat's was 10th, Indy's was 11th.

So actually the Colts havent had bad defenses!
The best Defense Brady has had while @ N.E. was last years, Mannings defense was better last year.

Since 2001 N.E.'s defense has been ranked 20 or higher 3 times. Indy's has been ranked 20 or higher 3 times.

So once again i say Manning has not had bad defenses. His defenses have been just as good or close to just as good as Brady's. You cant use this as an argument.

Why did you jump all over the place and skip years? Why did you not include Super Bowl years?

Indy's defense is usually playing a team that his trying to run the ball, kill the clock and keep Peyton and the Colts off the field. Scoring tons of points is very rarely a strategy of the Colts' opponent.
