I think Cincinatti should get into the playoffs if they win out. I know their schedule is not impressive, but they did beat ND convincingly, and you could guarantee that ND would be in the top 4 if they won that game.

Also, undefeated Oklahoma at #8 just baffles me. I know they have had some close calls, but they have won their games. There is no reason at all for Mich and MSU to be ahead of them.

If there was ever a year for Cinci to make it in the 4 team playoff this is it. Its Georgia, and then noone else. Mich St and Wake have losses now. Bama continues to look mortal, oklahoma isnt impressive, Oregon looks pretty good.

As people were pointing out, give Clemson Cincinatis schedule and they would be in if they were undefeated. Clemson SOS is 70, and a huge boost from Georgia. We wouldnt here the SOS argument against them.

Cincinnati isn’t getting in. Right now they’re essentially the #8 team.

If Michigan or Michigan State go through clean they jump them.

Oklahoma goes undefeated or even 12-1 they’re in.

They basically have to hope that Alabama loses to Georgia and Oregon loses again, plus Ohio State beats both Michigan and MSU to have a chance.

And even with all that I’m not sure the committee puts 13-0 Cinci over 11-2 Bama

7 of Oklahoma's 9 opponents currently have losing records. OU has the 2nd worst SOS in the entire country.

It never works out this way but the ultimate “we’re ****ed” scenario for the committee.

Alabama 12-1
Georgia 12-1
Oregon 12–1
Michigan State 12-1
Michigan 11-1
Oklahoma 13-0
Cincinnati 13-0
Wake Forest 12-1

If we were playing Michigan State this weekend what would your level of confidence be going into that game?

I would honestly feel like we would have a very good chance to win that game.
We'd have a chance to match them score-for-score for at least some significant period of time, if not the entire game. I mean, we matched Alabama for 3 quarters. That's the beauty of having an offense-dominant team in this era of football. Your defense can struggle but if you have an explosive, quick-strike offense you are rarely out of games. If you have a really dominant defense but a struggling offense, eventually that defense is going to wear out.

We'd have trouble stopping Kenneth Walker III, but I think we would score on their defense. Purdue scored 40, Michigan scored 33, Western Kentucky scored 31.

And the expanded CFP gets expedited to next season. I like it.

If they are going to expand it (and I am not the biggest fan of it), they better not do it via the model where each P5 conference champ gets a spot. Does anybody think this year's ACC champ would deserve a spot in a playoff?
Couldn’t agree more. There has to be a stipulation that a conference champ has to be ranked in the Top 15 or something along those lines.

The P5 champs always getting in only makes sense if the favored always win. What happens when it's an 8-5 conference champ.

It's a matter of when, not if. It will be based on CFB rankings, not conference champs. I expect a 6 team playoff soon, then eventually a 10 or 12 team playoff. We're already transitioning away from P5 too, SEC making first big move to establish the B3. CFB landscape will look completely different in the next 10 years.

Dang,.how are so many people forgetting that the UGA needed a 4tg qtr comback to beat Cincy just earlier this year (Bowl Season)??

Yeah it was "last season" but both teams are pretty much the same personnel wise from that very game.

UGA 24- Cincy 21

UGA is undefeated 10 months later = "Complete team with no weaknesses, possible great team that is changing the way football has been played last 10 years"

Cincy is undefeated 10 months later =
" Yeah you beat ranked Notre Dame, but noone else"

Can only play who's on your schedule, and they literally proved themselves a top 5 caliber team at the beginning of this same year....

Tennessee would beat Cincy by 4 TDs right now

Bearcats join UGA, OSU, Bama in CFP's top four

1. UGA
2. Ohio State
3. Alabama
4. Cincinnati
5. Michigan
6. Notre Dame

Considering Michigan and Ohio State will play, and Notre Dame has a head to head loss it seems like Cinci is in if they win out.

Final CFP rankings out Dec 5. So Bama and UGA will also play, that might effect rankings too. But I dont see it hurting Cinci no matter how it goes.

Only outsider I could see maybe making waves is Oklahoma State, if they look dominant and win against Oklahoma and whoever in the Big 12 championship game they may push their way in.

Cincinnati is in if they win out..... Play (7-4) ECU this friday at ECU and then top 25 Houston (10-1). I, for one, am happy they are in as they so far have deserved it.... They are like a breath of fresh air on the CFB landscape, entertaining and a cinderella team.

I disagree that is a lock. The first year of this TCU was #2. They slaughtered someone then magically dropped to #4 with one game left. Then they annihilated someone and fell out to #5 with, surprise surprise, Ohio State slipping in at #4. This is a TV show for ratings, not a fair and open competition. They don’t want you to know how it ends now.

Cinny probably needs Ohio State to beat Michigan and Georgia to beat Alabama to solidify the 4 seed. No way they leave out a one loss Michigan, and two loss Ohio State and Alabama.

The only way that Cincinnati doesn’t make the playoffs is if Alabama beats UGA in the SEC title game. Then you’d have both Bama and UGA in, along with either B10 champ Ohio St or Michigan. Then the last spot would come down to Cincinnati and a one loss B12 Champ.

I don’t think it’s any guarantee that if Michigan gets past Ohio State that they would beat Wisconsin.

Crazy scenario…

Bama beats UGA
Wisconsin beats Michigan/ OSU
OU beats Ok State (Maybe 2 weeks in a row)

Do both Cincy and Notre Dame get in W/ UGA and Bama?
