Tonight's First CFP Committee Reveal

I don’t think it’s any guarantee that if Michigan gets past Ohio State that they would beat Wisconsin.

Crazy scenario…

Bama beats UGA
Wisconsin beats Michigan/ OSU
OU beats Ok State (Maybe 2 weeks in a row)

Do both Cincy and Notre Dame get in W/ UGA and Bama?

Assuming OU wins the Big 12 they’d get in over ND

I disagree that is a lock. The first year of this TCU was #2. They slaughtered someone then magically dropped to #4 with one game left. Then they annihilated someone and fell out to #5 with, surprise surprise, Ohio State slipping in at #4. This is a TV show for ratings, not a fair and open competition. They don’t want you to know how it ends now.
BIG XII Commissioner screwed the pooch that year. Baylor jumped them in the final poll due to head-to-head meeting and they tied for the conference championship. If the commissioner had declared an outright champion then Baylor would probably been in the CFP. In the end the committee chose tOSU because of the 13th Data Point... conference championship game (BIG XII didn't have one then).

Bama beating UGA is a nightmare scenario for every other team. In that instance, both UGA and Bama are locks, but I think you have to leave a 2 loss Bama out in favor of Cinny, or other one loss teams.

I don’t see a way that Ohio State doesn’t roll through Michigan and Wisconsin, they’re locks in my mind.

Notre Dame is on the outside looking in due to the head to head with Cinny and their lack of a conference championship game, they need too many upsets to stand a chance.

OU or Okie St needs Cinny to drop the ball against Houston and win out but I think if one of them wins out, they get in if Cinny loses.

I think UGA, Bama, Ohio State, and Cinny will still be your top 4 when the dust settles, but what do I know

The only way that Cincinnati doesn’t make the playoffs is if Alabama beats UGA in the SEC title game. Then you’d have both Bama and UGA in, along with either B10 champ Ohio St or Michigan. Then the last spot would come down to Cincinnati and a one loss B12 Champ.
Bama still has to get past Auburn before the SEC Championship Game though. Bama probably wins the Iron Bowl but Auburn has pulled off the upset before. Rivalry game and whatnot.

How about this? OU beats the Pokes this week and then loses in a rematch in the Big 12 title game.

I’d say Cincy and ND at that point (assuming everybody else has two losses not named Georgia or Alabama)

The only chance Notre Dame has is UGA beating Bama in the SEC title game and the winner of the B12 having two losses. Under that scenario ND gets in.

Neither gets in. Neither have gotten the attention to carry them thru a loss.

It's a beauty pageant that favors the favored.

Oh I agree. I just meant where the dominos fall if they both lose. I’m actually kind of going for Ok State to get in. They’ve just been quietly winning games staying close.

Gotcha. I wouldnt mind seeing OK St get in and win the first round. Let the Big 12 keep some legitimacy.

Not sure if Oklahoma State does win out if I personally dont want to see them in the playoffs over Cincy. Assuming they win out too.

Right now I have UGA at the top by a lot, Ohio State a step down, then everyone else about two steps below ohio state. I think those two win by 20 against any other team you put them against.

Neither team has ever upset the other with as many losses as Auburn currently has. Would be a first and historic.

Believe Bama rolls AU. If they lose to GA and get it with two losses then it would also be a first I believe and would solidify how rotten and corrupt this system is.

Gundy is only 2-14 against Oklahoma. Baylor has beaten Oklahoma more in that time period but let's hope that he can get that third victory this week.

They’re going to factor that into next weeks rankings according to ESPN
Crappy schedule, no conference championship game (13th data point) and no coach? This would spell doom for 99% of teams around the country. We'll see what the committee will do.

I think it will be UGA, Michigan, Oklahoma State, and Cincinnati in the playoff. In that order. If the current season-long trend continues then there will be some form of "upset" this weekend to scramble the field, but for some reason I think the favorites hold sway this time, and this is how it looks come the 5th.

Go Vols.
