Toomer's Corner Poisoned

Why is Peyton getting mauled by bears in your pic?

Also, I don't care if you sat in a 2400 year old tree or sat on the queen's lap wearing nothing but a bow tie. Both stories are irrelevant, but the better question is, why would you sit in a tree in Greece?

He knew someday he'd be able to use that to make a point

this thread has gone straight to hell.

y'all managed to turn a story about a moron committing an act of destroying something precious to a community and turned into a pissing contest about the age of trees in various locations.

It's great though. I'm sitting here laughing my a** off reading this thread :eek:lol:

The sequoia tree in California named "General Sherman" is from 2,300-2,700-years-old.

Anyway, 130 years in Europe is the same as 130 years in America. Kind of like the old trick question: "What weighs more, 100 pounds of bricks or 100 pounds of feathers?"

That's easy.....100 pounds of bricks, Duh :whistling:

I'm really stunned that people find such a hateful act funny in anyway.

The act is ignorant. I hope the dumbass is caught and he has to pay a ridiculous fine.

What's funny is the idiot called in to Finebaum and bragged about it, which in turn started the investigation.

Auburn's live mascot is bird. It could still probably tear him up pretty good though.

I saw a tiger in a cage somewhere down there at some point. I don't keep up with Auburn that much, they have too many confusing mascots to figure it out.

Killing those trees because you hate Auburn isn't cool , funny or anything in between ,it's idiotic..

I know LSU has a live tiger. The Barn has that silly little bird that flies around the stadium. I do agree however that this guy could use a good mauling.

I recall that Tennessee used to have a "silly little bird" that would fly around the stadium durng the national anthem and then fly down onto the field at the end. You, sir, are an ass.

Never knew we had dual mascots. I guess you really do learn something new every day.

Davy Crockett..... Smokey.... You must be new around here. The eagle we used to have wasn't a mascot so much as a show of national pride. Capice??

Which was my point. It was used to show patriotism, not as a mascot or a symbol of our team. There's sort of a difference there. And what does Auburn's Golden Eagle have to do with patriotism? Wasn't trying to argue with the other poster in the first place. Drink your coffee and try to cut out the personal attacks for the remainder of your day. Not very becoming.

I can agree with this. When I got to UT, I was rabid. I reacted irrationally to losses and it was pretty pathetic. Then I started to see the way I acted in other people, and I realized how sad it was. Maturation at it's finest?

Agreed. I started to loom at CFB a lot differntly when I realized about 15 or so years ago that the kids playing for (insert school here) really couldn't care less about said school. Maybe it's always been that way but it just seemed like kids used to play for a given school because they had grown up as fans and playing there was all they
ever wanted to do. I don't take it nearly as seriously as I used to.

What's the difference between a golden eagle and a bald eagle?

We also have walking horses on homecoming, but they are a symbol of Tennessee, not a mascot or of any relation to our team. Wasn't trying to argue in the first place. I'm already on my third cup. Maybe that's the problem but if you are going to call other teams dearly held traditions silly be prepared to be called on it.

Wonder if anyone's tune would change if someone managed to kill our silly little dog or pull up next to our silly little torchbearer in a truck, throw a silly little logging chain around ut and pull it down. Not so silly any more, is it?

You're right. Why wouldn't you call someone an ass for saying that Auburn's bird is silly on a Tennessee board. Makes perfect sense.

Very silly. Did someone poison the bird? If some rival fan thinks Smokey is silly, who cares. If a rival fan harmed him, then yeah, I would be pissed.

So my point is valid. Bird, tree, tiger, dog... It isn't important what the symbol of scholl pride/identity is. Somebody poisoned their trees. And yes, what some other schools fan thinks about Smokey bothers me not one whit, so long as they don't Decide to do anything about it.
