SC beats Tenn with an injury laden team and all of a sudden theyre so much better than us!! Lmaoooo I think we answered the question though....SC beat NO top 5 teams, just like we didnt! Stop feeding these trolls you guys! Lol

SC fans remind me of LSU fans of old when they had Augustus Fowles etc.... But LSU went to 5 straight final fours and won how many titles ???????????? I'll wait

I was talking to one of my friends the other day and he said the EXACT same thing! That's when the SEC was a mainstay in the FF with LSU and Tenn....I do commend SC for getting there and repping for the SEC, I don't take that away from them. I'm just ready for us to reclaim our stronghold on a FF spot.

I point in all of this is that UT should not be ranked in the Top 5 until they actually defeat a Top 5 team. They continue to fail that test.

Maybe UT will do it this season, but until they do, they should not be ranked in the Top 5 for any reason.

I am a LVFL. I don't have anything bad to say about Holly or any of our girls. I would still be a fan if they weren't in the top 20. GO LADY VOLS

neither should South Carolina. They beat no top 5 team either a final four apperance the previous year doesn't qualify you for an automatic bid in the top 5 hence "Cinderella Teams"

Finished ranked 6th last season, lost 3 senior starters, bringing back 3 players from injury and having only 1 big of consequence (Russell).

doesn't sound like a top 25 team to me.

Some of you like to penalize UT for losing to teams ranked better than them. That's not how it's supposed to work. If you are ranked #5 and lose to a team ranked #2, then that doesn't mean you're not a legitimate #5 ranked team.

Last year's team lost their best player to injury. No team gets better when that happens.

This year we get back 2 impact players from sitting out a year plus a good recruiting class. Let's see what happens.

What top-5 teams were beaten by teams that would be ranked ahead of UT in that 8/9 scenario? Like I said ... other teams have to earn it, too. I don't see Duke, Baylor, Ohio State, Louisville or Florida State beating any top 5 teams last season, either.

Logic ... try it sometime.

Had this team not lost Harrison and Jones AND Mercedes last year, I have no doubt in my mind that Holly wpuld have had us in the FF. Hell the year before that when Ariel was having her best season at UT and she went down, I have no doubt in my mind that we would have made it to the FF then. People love to say "O Holly still had plenty of top kids/firepower"....no, when you lose instrumental players at inopportune times, when it comes the time to play other top tier teams, it makes it tougher to win. I commend Holly and if no injuries are to be had this year, this will be the year I expect her to reach the FF!

Katie Meier is an idiot. Other than ND, there isn't an ACC team that is likely to make the FF, and honestly ND is a big question mark and I wouldn't pick them as a FF team as of now. God knows Hell will freeze over before Duke ever makes a FF, and FSU and Louisville aren't likely to make it.

Duke has some good talent this year. If they don't get matched up with UCONN in the tournament, I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a FF.
