Top 25 Teams

Duke has some good talent this year. If they don't get matched up with UCONN in the tournament, I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a FF.

I agree with you. Duke does have a chance and you never know how Louisville Freshmen will play.

Nobody is doubting Duke's talent it is the coach that a lot of people (myself included) question. She's just not that good. She has had talent at both Duke and Michigan State and has yet to produce. She is an excellent recruiter/talent evaluator (I give her that) but she's a horrible coach.

Isn't she the one who throws her players under the bus when they have a loss?

She won a championship at Michigan State, I want to say she beat us that year. Also I believe she would have challenged for a FF birth the year Grey got injured! She's not as bad a coach as people make her out to be. Just like Holly.

I don't think MSU won that year. They lost in the final, I think to Baylor. Tennessee had a massive choke in the FF and lost a game they had no reason to lose. Shyra Ely, one of my all time favorite players, ended her career with a nightmarish choke job in her hometown.

They beat us because Ely gave us hardly anything in the game against them and they lost to Sophia Young and Baylor in the title game. The next two seasons they lost in the second round and she resigned and then took the Duke job when Gail Gestenkors took the Texas Job

You're right, that is the year they lost to Baylor! Shyra was one of my all time favorites too!!! I hate she couldn't win her one!

05 was the year we went against Michigan State an lost that 16 point lead... Shyra was a pretty good. I'm shocked that her wnba career was rather lackluster QUOTE=LadyVol1908;11987267]You're right, that is the year they lost to Baylor! Shyra was one of my all time favorites too!!! Classic tweener. Not quite big enough to play the high post and not consistent enough to play the wing.

I can see that at 6'2.. 05 was a very winnable title... ugh I wish I could go back in time and change that outcome.. I remember screaming at the tv like noooooooooo.. I aslo wonder if SWG had stayed at Tenn and Hornbuckle never hurt her hand would Tenn had won the title in 06

CP3 was begging Pat to put her in the game, but it would have costed her a hole year that she did not use anyway.

I was hoping Pat let her play (I was very selfish at the time) I know looking back on things (especially with her not playing her last year of eligibility) Pat wish she would've let her play. We would have had no problems beating Michigan State and Baylor and the title would've been ours (Hindsight being 20/20) who knows if we would've been able to win the 07 and 08 titles though if we had won in 06 would we have become complacent? But we certainly had the talent on that team to win it all.

She's as bad as people make her out to be, and possibly worse. The majority of Duke fans I've spoken with are very unhappy with her and wish Gail had never left. Not only is she not a good coach, but she also treats everyone within the program like crap. She's had a very high turnover rate of players and assistant coaches.

I have heard the same over and over as well. Basically everyone within the program avoids her like the plague when they are able to. She has a reputation of having a naturally repugnant disposition.

We all know it was your opinion. And your opinion is wrong. She sucks. She's isn't a good coach and she isn't a good person.

why do we care so much about duke's coach? We have our own problems.

1.) The title of this thread is "Top 25 teams". Note the "s". That would indicate a discussion of multiple teams, which means the discussion isn't limited to Tennessee.

2.) If you don't want to discuss teams outside of Tennessee, don't open a thread titled in a way that indicates an overall discussion that isn't limited to Tennessee. Simple.

Before Sa'de left Pat ran a series of effective and lethal line-ups she had so many rotations it was crazy... She ran a 3 guard with SWG Zolman Hornbuckle with Anosike/Fluker and Parker... Turn around and do SWG Zolman Spencer Anosike/Fluker and Parker etc etc... She could literally interchange those line-ups and they were just so good... I for the life of me still can't understand why SWG left to be a back-up PG on a Maryland team that didn't need her
