I think there was a lot of jealousy on that team and a lot of it was towards Parker. I also think SWG's family stayed in her ear and wanted her to be the "star". I can't recall, but I think someone posted that her family followed her to Knoxville. After she went to Maryland, it was like she disappeared.

I was hoping Pat let her play (I was very selfish at the time) I know looking back on things (especially with her not playing her last year of eligibility) Pat wish she would've let her play. We would have had no problems beating Michigan State and Baylor and the title would've been ours (Hindsight being 20/20) who knows if we would've been able to win the 07 and 08 titles though if we had won in 06 would we have become complacent? But we certainly had the talent on that team to win it all.

Shouldn't have needed her. I was there, we were cruising along then bang!!!!!!!

You hit the nail on the head it was Jealousy. Her parents was trying to make her something she was not. She was talented but wasn't a Star. Candace was the star but other players became stars (Anosike, Bobbit, Hornbuckle) or played like stars when we needed them too (Auguste, Fuller, Spence, etc.) She transferred to Maryland thinking she would be able to play right away (which I'm sure Frese promised her because Frese hates us) only to get there and have to sit

I knew that Hornbuckle was going to be special to us since her freshman year she fit in so well with the 3guard pat ran in 05 with Moore and Zolman, She had length,size and was so athletic she was Tenns version of Scholanda Hoston,Robinson.Dorrell lol... But you see with SWG karma is a big one because she ended up barely being able to play her knees were so bad she couldn't be in for more than 5 minutes.. Looks like we dodged that one lol
