No, it doesn't. People should have the right to do whatever they want with their own bodies, no matter how much you or I disagree with their lifestyle.

What does have to stop however is subjecting/forcing children into this sort of thing.

Also trying to force people to accept it as being normal.

Political correctness, by and large, is just the effort to encourage people to show respect to others.

You may disagree with what people do, but have the maturity to leave them alone to live their lives.

Do you consider schizophrenia to be a mental disorder bc almost 2 million more people in the US have that disorder?
This not about schizophrenia. Start another thread or we'll be discussing bipolar, depression, anxiety, panic attacks and a dozen other conditions.

So do I have to accept their mental disorders and lifestyle as normal or do they need to realize they have a mental disorder but nobody cares?

No it’s not. It’s a way to claim that abnormal or deviant behavior is “ok” and “normal” when it’s not. People really don’t care what other people do, it’s trying to pass it off as normal society norms and force others to agree with that is the issue

I don’t think anyone cares that they live there lives however they want to live there lives.... it is the crossover into everyone else’s lives that people have an issue with.

All are mental disorders just like transgenders.... you claimed it was mental or there wouldnt be so many cases in the US. I used schizophrenia to illustrate that most of all the other mental disorders have just as many or more cases in the US.

I wonder how many posters here have had a friendship with a trans individual.

I followed one of my friend's stories closely through his Blue Card year and his reassignment surgery. Having an open, honest dialogue with him opened my eyes to many issues they face. It changed my mind about many things.

I hear "These people are different than me, and in a way that makes me uncomfortable. I do not want my life intersecting with theirs because of how I may respond."

“Their lives are different than mine in a way where they try very hard to normalize their mental disorder. I feel sorry for them.”

XXX, XXY, Fragile X, Kleinfelters Syndrome, chimerism, mis-assigned hermaphroditism aren't mental disorders. Try again.

Nonsense. Maybe a few hundred people in America identify as a bird. That is a mental disorder. Over 1.5M Americans identify as transgender. That's an unalterable result of their genetic makeup.

You know it’s not a genetic makeup thing in regards to “ being trans “ , its called being a cultural / sociological choice . There no such thing as a Trans gene that gets passed down to your offspring .

I wouldn’t necessarily relate birth defects to transgenderism but it also wouldn’t rule out mental disorders.

They are considered deviant in terms of normality. Also that’s not the same as a man wanting to pretend they’re a female and having periods. Gender dysphoria is a mental illness and not normal

Why wouldn’t people care about the socially accepted norms around them ?

Because there's a dichotomy where one side refuses to accept the other, then demands itself be given special status.

Trumphumpers, for instance.

Because if we want to talk mental illness, we could post images of each side's dominant voices. Like this one. Stop telling me I have to accept this as normal.

I think you misunderstood. I could give 2 sh$*s what these people do to their body.

Writing news stories like the OP is what needs to stop. Men cannot have periods. The story is about a man yet doesn't tell the readers "he" is really a "she."
And as AJ mentioned, stop changing words or bathrooms for the craziness too!
