Transfer Portal 21-22

3, not 4, none of whom have come close to living up to their recruiting ratings (and not just those on Hoopgurlz).

(As an aside, it's easy to see where Sabrina comes from; she'd probably say something similar if she were reckless enough to put it on social media. And, of course, another father--Watson's--has responded.)

The 3 arrived as a group, having been friends before coming west, and Parrish, who was the first commit, worked hard to bring Scherr and Watson with her. At the time, I thought that was a nice story; now, I'm not so sure, since it created sort of a circle within a circle. (One reason, according to some, that Angela Dugalic left last year.) In any case, the group exit is not a complete surprise and I believe that Oregon will ultimately be the better for it.

So the recruiters didn't do their due diligence? They couldn't foresee that these players were a "clique" and would exbibit "entitled" (Graves' word) tendencies?

All this high school recruiting and portal activity is overwhelming to me. I don't know how you folks who are close followers can take the drama of it year after year. It takes all kinds, of course, but lawdy ... I can't take it! 😵‍💫

Wake me up when it's over and I'll figure out how I feel about it then. 🤣

Wake me up before I go go....

Ra Shaya Kyle - Women's Basketball - Purdue Boilermakers

55 percent from the field and 75 percent from the line. I like she can make free throws love to have her has at least two seasons left to play her best seasons seem to be ahead of her.

Only concern is whatever the injury is. Appears to be a foot/ankle problem. She’s still in a walking boot on her recent social posts and is using a scooter like Marta did early in the year.

If it’s lingering that bad but did not require surgery it worries me a bit. We do really need another backup post. I know Karo has got some game but I just worry she’ll get bullied in the SEC by more physical posts if TK is in foul trouble.

You also don't know what the 2023 class will bring so you need a player with two years to play to go with Karoline the next season when Key will be gone.

It’s official

Will always love Emily. I think this will work out best for both her and the program in the long run. She was clearly not happy just being a good teammate anymore. Hopefully she’ll thrive and play lots at another school.

This allows Kelly some more wiggle room to beef up her roster this off season. As we saw last season you can get thin in a hurry. First game of the season I thought we were a deep team, started losing players that very day and never stopped.

Sara Scalia another big name in the portal out of Minnesota. Can really shot the rock. 17th over 40% from 3. Her numbers won’t be that good at her next school IMO. She was pretty much allowed to do whatever offensively because Minnesota had nobody else. They have really struggled under Whalen. Going to be hard for them to fire their legend but that looks like what’s happening within the next couple seasons unless she pulls a rabbit out of her hat.

And they said we were crazy lol if multiple fanbases are saying the same thing……

Doesn't surprise me one bit, the Hayes have caused complete chaos everywhere they have went ...HS all the way to present day. No wonder noone wants to play along side them, imagine the drama 🙄 on a day to day basis. Anastasia is the ring leader of trouble

I wonder if the staff also feels that back-up post is their most pressing need. Right now, the LVs guard depth looks pretty good with Walker coming back , Jackson and Powell transferring in (and Horston, Miles, Darby, Wynn). Justine is listed as a guard/forward. Then, we have Puckett and Striplin who can play at forward or go into the post when Key is out. We have seen increasingly how conventional post players can be taken out of games by smaller teams who can spread the floor and have a 5 who can shoot from the mid range. I am not sure a conventional post player is as essential as it once was, if you have outside shooting.

Be a good get looks like AZ is making a push to ?
I'm sure they are they push for a lot of players and also a lot of players leave. They had a roster of 13 but four leaving puts them at nine so I expect they will be looking for at least three from the portal.

I would think with what I've heard about wanting to play with more speed any player going forward would be quite versatile even a post player. Jackson and Powell certainly are versatile players that can play the high speed game. I think the post we should be looking for is one that has more than a post up game. Someone that can handle and hit mid-range or even a few threes. Jenkins is one like that in the portal know there should be several more as well.

She will graduate this June and be a grad transfer. I’m not sure it’s as easy as she happy or unhappy. She wants to play but loves the Lady Vols.
