Transfer Portal 22-23

I’m no expert on the UT lineup, so please excuse my thoughts, and that’s all it is, thoughts. But Diamond Johnson is not necessarily a positive addition to the UT lineup, bear with me here. She is a small/short guard that likes to volume shoot and has medium to low defensive skills. Where does that fit into the current LV lineup? I could have seen it before Wells was added, similar type players tbh. But with Wells now on board, how does that improve or change the lineup outside of I suppose some more depth at a now stacked position If she chose UT. If you have watched her in her career btw, we are talking about a shoot first guard, and when in doubt, shoot. Yeah she can shoot some, but she likes volume also.

Someone will geek post stats now and show me I am wrong, perhaps. But in the eye test, I have watched a lot of her playing time in college, this is a lady that looks to put her shot up before looking to share the rock. How does that work for UT next year? And yeah, that’s all based on eye test, I don’t know her stats.
Sorry I was not talking about her the other 2 was my question

Why the heck would Donarski go to UNC? Cannot understand that one.

Because Banghart is a dynamic, smart coach who's proving she can recruit--and I'm sure the cachet of the men's program helps a bit as well,
although it hasn't helped much over the years. Our coaching "search" was a joke--pure provincialism.

I'm sorry, I missed the part where Banghart has had any more success than Harper. Fill us in, please.

I hate the portal. Hoping a federal law is passed to put more parameters in place. I’m sure I won’t like those parameters either but this is just nuts. We need a full department at UT to handle these issues. I don’t think asking a couple of coaches plus a staff member is sufficient in this new reality.

The portal plus NIL are going to be the death of Collegiate athletics if some guard rails are not put in place and it will take congressional acts to do the trick

Keep checking every day to see if there's any news on a possible 'game changer' to commit and every day get disappointed by seeing nothing except top transfers going to other programs. The fact that not one of the top 10 transfers has even considered UT speaks volumes about the decline of our program. Blame it on coaching staff, blame it on NIL, blame it on whatever, but something has to be done before we become the next ODU or LA Tech.

So are you a member of the Lady Vol Boost-her Club? They need everyone to help!

I really like Nivar, Owusu, and Lester has a lot of potential out of Louisville. Merritt is ok if she has recovered from injuries from last season. Taiyer Parks would help inside although she is not a good free throw shooter just 56 percent last season.
