The first trick was Wells... She is a huge pick up despite her not coming from a big school. People need to start paying attention to how these players fit into the new schools instead of name chasing lol

So mystery solved with the first trick ... no waiting necessary 😂

When I look at a player I look at for and need, so every player I’ve mentioned that we should look at would have filled both needs. Wells is a decent pickup.

Seriously! Wells's offensive numbers last season were outstanding and better than any guard Tennessee's had at least in the Her Hoop Stats era (since 2009). She's above the 95th percentile in so many categories, it's insane. Yes, we'll have to see how that plays out at the P5 level, but I really think her game will translate well.

If we can walk away from the portal season with Wells , Strickland and SPEAR ! Im calling it a win . We are contenders again based off Spear's decision. Please pleaseee let her be the P5 player mentioned although she was not in the portal before the post so im unsure but COACH SAM GET ON IT RIGHT NOW DAMNIT !

For years people complained about our PG position. She doesn't have a good name you say she is decent i say she is a good pick up. We shall see how it works but she is in orange and i'm excited about the ones we know we landed!

But because she didn't come from a Power 5 people are sleeping on her. She moved conferences and played in the MVC which was a tougher conference than her previous one and improved !!!! PLUS she has played well against P5 schools including us lol

Yes. Funny enough, Destinee Wells was ranked #81 by Hoopgurlz and Jewel Spear was right behind her at #82 the same year. Both have two years of eligibility left.

Spear was also a member of the 2021 U19 USA Basketball team, an elite group that also included Lauren Betts, Sonia Citron, Caitlin Clark, Amari DeBerry, Sania Feagin, Azzi Fudd, Diamond Johnson, Te-Hina Paopao, Payton Verhulst, Lauren Ware, and Jersey Wolfenbarger. Spear only played one game (not sure if she got injured?) but she scored 14 points and was a starter, even with that stacked roster.
