Like a very smart poster said earlier, name chasing gets in the way of reality for some. Wells is exactly what was needed. We got her. I’m also not worried about scoring either. We have a few juniors who have experience and are ready to step up and lead. I’m excited to see the growth of our entire roster’s players who have worked hard for their moment.

Unless we get more scoring we will struggle, yes things may look good if we have a weak schedule to start the season but when we get to the big games we only have 1 go to scorer in Rickea. Hope we can get some help in the portal.

Well...the pickings are getting slim. Not depleted, but slim. Players need homes and most of the homes are full. If you're a team with roster spots, then that's a good thing. Just choose wisely. No point in grabbing players out of the portal and then finding out that's not what you needed after all. Sure, TN could use some shooting, but maybe they already have it and the problem is coming up with a plan to get them open.

And I wish people would stop saying they aren’t worried about scoring. The players we have now for the most part struggled against elite defending teams. You can rebound and defend your but off but if you can’t score then it’s irrelevant. Come tournament time you need multiple players who can get a bucket. As far as Owusu and I can only speak for myself, it’s not about her name it’s about the production and skill set she brings on the offensive side of the ball and it’s not like she can’t play defense at all.

If Key is healthy and in game shape, UT defense on interior just got elite again. Wells may or may not be a lock down perimeter defender at this level, nobody knows yet, but she can score and in bunches. RJ can play defense, when she wants to, she has shown that already. If Jill takes the next step as expected, both defensively and offensively, there is a lot to like here. You have to be optimistic here with RJ in the line up, she is ALL SEC. The others can step up their game now, it’s time. They are old enough now.

Sharing a brain. Agree with every word. To think that RJ could be even better next year should be frightening to all. Add a grown woman like Key to the paint and I’m liking our chances most nights. They just have to stay on the floor and watch the fouls, especially Key w/ the fouls. The refs are whistle happy with her.

Jewel Spear Stats | ESPN

Jewell Spear would be the ideal two guard for our team. She can get to the basket, makes her free throws, and is a very good three point shooter. She is a double threat and comes in with efficiency numbers of 1..21 and 50 percent EFF. If you have seen her on video or a game she has some moves and can create off the dribble. We should be contacting her immediately I hope she is the player we need to really round out the guard position. Good news is a lot of eligibility left. Also very low turnover only 1.9 per game throughout her career.

241 of 656 from the three for her career 36.7 percent. Another three point threat. Love to line her, Wells, and Darby up on the perimeter along with Ace off the bench.

Id put money on Texas and or Louisville. Spear is from the houston , tx area played high school ball at Cy fair with current players on the Longhorns roster. Im sure they are front runners for her services right now . Vic dont play about the transfer portal LOL

She has family in NC so I could see her at NC, but with them picking up Lexi idk.

SC would be a long shot she would have to come off the bench they just picked Papao up and that would mean Bre Hall might be back on the bench.

I don’t think she was the best transfer but one of the best for sure, they have a good chance of repeating but UConn will be tough.

I think they might lose 5 games at most but yea pre season to win it all
