Transfer Portal 22-23

Not a chance because LSU would’ve never played defense where they dared them to shoot. And because Iowa showed that defense while playing South Carolina, LSU was able to prepare for it. The biggest reason South Carolina even loss in the first place was because of those bogus fouls called on Boston in less than a full quarter…

Clark also had 3 fouls like 2 minutes into the second quarter. Hard for me to feel fouls played much role in the outcome. Now the final….

He played a role because SC was allowed to play a certain way all season then boom in the Final Four game they totally changed the way they reffed them. And if you go back and look at the game count how many times Boston and Cordosa got hit or pushed without a single call made. Almost every outlet pass Cordosa made out the post her elbows were hit and resulted in turnovers.

Interesting player. Had a really great start her freshman yr, was All SEC Frosh, 3x Frosh of the Week, led team in blocks and rebounds (8 per game) and played center at 6'1" before blowing out a knee in January that yr. That would have been under Doug Novak. This year, under Sam Purcell, her mins were way down, averaged 15 mins and all stats were way down as well. Can see that she may not have clicked with the new coach. Another casualty of the MSU coaching-go-round since Vic left.

Don't know if she could play on the perimeter. Played half her frosh yr w Rickea. Curious as to RJ's take on her.

I see this with some posters a team like LSU can bring in a highly coveted transfer, bring back key members from a team that won the championship and have a highly recruited hs class and some of you can say why they still won’t win but the LV can get any player and all of sudden the hopes and dreams of a final four or championship just start to pour out on this forum.this is truly a one of a kind fan base

You mean that this fan base has real fans? Shirley, you jest.

Kim probably thinks she has the bag wrapped for next year, but don’t think having big names is what will win you the national title. The target will be on their backs all year, something they aren’t use to.

She actually fouled though. Those fouls on Boston was bogus.

Boston's fouls looked legit to me. All year, she backed into players while dribbling and displaced them while doing so. On her second foul, the defender set her feet and stood her ground, so Boston knocked her down with her backside.

I doubt it. Kim has been doing this for decades. She had a Baylor team that was projected to go back to back but did not. I doubt she approaches next year like its in the bag for them even though I'm sure they are confident. All you have to do is look no further than what happened to SC. It only takes one game and its night out. The same thing has happened to one of her prior teams before.

Its incredibly hard to repeat, no matter how stacked you are. Everyone is gunning for you.

She is a realist and that’s why sometimes she exceeds the norm. She understands the magnitude of winning and what it takes. She shared her goals for the season in one of the LSU post championship celebration. It was one of the more poignant basketball speeches I’ve heard in some time. Kim is a legend in my eyes.

Starts at 1:57 but the entire clip is great IMO

Well, you are just wrong on this, I won’t disparage you here, that article is trash as I know such. The International CWBB players all had the ability as every player did to engage in NIL opportunities, it is just the facts. Please realize all you read on the internet is not always factually based these days.

It’s cloudy.

NIL considerations for international student athletes

However, there are no clear rules for what NIL compensation foreign student athletes — most of whom are in the United States on F-1 student visas — are authorized to accept under current immigration regulations, which prohibit international students in F-1 immigration status from participating in off-campus employment unless it is part of their academic program of study. NIL activities are not explicitly permitted or prohibited by law or by F-1 student immigration regulations, and while the NCAA has indicated that international student athletes can “benefit” from their NIL, it has outlined the need for such athletes to consult with their institution “related to maintaining their immigration status and tax implications.” Thus, in the absence of guidance from SEVP, colleges and universities, as well as foreign student athletes themselves, lack clarity on what activities are permissible for foreign student athletes to engage in and what activities will lead to a violation of their F-1 student immigration status. As a result of the current F-1 visa rules, certain athletes on the same team have vastly different opportunities available to them. While international students are allowed to work in on-campus positions, such as those in the college dining hall or campus bookstore, they, unlike their teammates, are ostensibly unable to earn a profit from their NIL by appearing at events like autograph signings.
