How is Strickland going to be eligible. She started at West Virginia got in the portal and went to Pitt. She must have a waiver of some kind cause she already had her one time free transfer.

Right now were sitting fifth in the conference just on what has happened with the portal. Ole Miss and Texas A&M have added some elite talent along with a top rated freshman class for A&M. Then you have SC and LSU who are far and away ahead of everybody. No one else in the conference has done much so we'll see where it goes from here. Georgia had a fairly large amount of talented returning players so they didn't need to add much.

I feel like they announced Kaniya then Ace because they knew everyone would flip their top if the first boom was Strickland.

Still the response I thought we’d see, not positive. The program needs something positive and tangible in recruiting. I felt like we did a really nice job hitting the portal the last two seasons. So far, not impressed. We need some athleticism and transfers should be used to improve the roster.

If our HS recruiting is going to continue at a paltry pace we are going to have to have 2-3 impact transfers every season. Right now we have 1 impact transfer and 1 that will have A LOT to prove if she gets any minutes at all.

We truly need another athletic player who can handle the ball, defend the perimeter and rebound. I actually don’t think we need that much scoring but we have to get some athleticism somewhere. I love Puckett and she could be that player but she’s going to have to improve her rebounding and defense markedly.

Otherwise we can do ok with what we have but are going to have to team rebound WAY better. No more boxing out and then waiting for Horston to grab the ball. In the games she missed that was a glaring problem. 4 players would box out and the ball would hit the floor and then be grabbed by our opponent and scored. Have to box out AND rebound. That’s why it’s two parts have to box then secure the ball.

Said she was going after rebounding help and thus far haven't seen any. If you can't rebound the SEC will eat you up. Right now there seems to be a lot of trust in Tamari being able to play huge minutes. Jill is a decent rebounder, Sarah and Karoline are average at best. Darby and Strickland will be non factors as rebounding help. Before the season started last year we looked really solid for second place with a chance at first. We finished third. The present roster looks to be about fifth maybe sixth in the league. Need to see how this last two three weeks play out need something big to happen or were looking at a tough season.

I do not have anything to do with saving this post .This site saves it so you should not have a problem retrieving it .I have three crows in the freezer now in prep for that famous day .If you are wrong ,I expect to send all 20 to you for consumption.

Of course I will need your address to send the crows so do the "honorable " thing and provide it at that time .Please remember this thread ....did not save because it is saved by this site.

Where are the excuses ? Just send me your address in January 2024 and I will forward all the crows I have accumulated at that time.You will enjoy them because you are dead wrong on her impact on the Lady Vols.

Since you said save the post and eat crow.....I assume that if you are indeed wrong you would also do the honorable thing and eat crow.....I will send the crow to you at no charge.

So far pretty disappointed with our portal picks. Wells is a very, very talented player but we need a more athletic rebounder who can defend on the perimeter. Strickland isn’t that.

Strickland was more of a fit for Missouri or Tennessee Tech and could have possibly scored 9-10 points a game. If that's the direction the Lady Vols are insisting on going well that's on them. Those NIL deals don't pay if you are not winning. Of course we will win this year with Rickea Jackson Tamari key and Destinee wells in the lineup however Continue to recruit like Missouri and will be like Missouri losing in the wnit. And if we get lucky and happen to recruit two or three additional top 30 players next year and go to the portal again, does she ever see substantial playing time at Tennessee? SMH

Well, you are just wrong on this, I won’t disparage you here, that article is trash as I know such. The International CWBB players all had the ability as every player did to engage in NIL opportunities, it is just the facts. Please realize all you read on the internet is not always factually based these days.

Now that we have a hs commit and a hometown girl in the house, I hope we are lasar focused on getting exactly the player you describe. That player, along w Wells, could be a true difference maker.

Couliboly kinda, and I bet they'd take her for D and rebounding but we need a 3 pt shooter who can also defend. Surprised Couli hasn't commited to Tex A M by now. Donarski, maybe Fauntleroy fm Georgetown. Celeste Taylor definitely for the D but she's not a 3 pt shooter either. Been talking about Denae Fritz fm Iowa St around here the last couple of days.

IMO we don't need a big scorer like Morrow who will want lots of shots. Just someone quick who at least keeps opposing Ds honest with her 3.

I like Donarski figured she was going to Indiana Denae Fritz might be a good option. How about the guard from DePaul I think she is second to to Morrow in scoring

Ace delayed her announcement to be able to call the other teams. I assume Kaniya did the same based on visits and timing by both.
