Transfer Portal 22-23

Hailey Van Lith Stats | ESPN

Destinee Wells Stats | ESPN

As far as Van Lith vs Wells we did fine. Van Lith comes in with a 1.16 and 48 while Wells comes in with a 1.33 and 53. So Wells was the far more efficient player. They go about the same in assists, rebounds, and turnovers.

In their head to head Wells goes for 20 on just 10 shots attempts Van Lith scored 25 on 22 shot attempts. Van Lith gets a lot of her scoring from shooting the ball so much 41 percent from the field for the season.

We could match up quite well with LSU or almost anyone if we could just get two strong players one that plays inside and one great rebounding guard that can also shoot the outside shot somewhat efficiently.

Were going to be better from the three Wells went for 45 percent last season and is a career 40 percent shooter. There is Tess around 40 percent and Ace is capable of the high 30's even though she shot 34 percent as a freshmen last season.

I think we take two more players on the roster really don't want to go in any season with less than 12. Probably see Edie get a scholarship for next season as well.
The scholarship for Edie wont likely come until her Junior or Senior season, I doubt it comes this year. But very well said on all of your other statements.

Pretty accurate. They just said she may go for another visit or two, she hasn't actually scheduled anything

While SC will be very talented, I have no doubt Dawn will try to bring in some more proven players. It’s probably a stretch to ask all those freshmen and bench players to do it all from the get go. She will try to get some proven talent to help
I agree I was just alluding to HVL considering SC it or vice versa but if you say the insider is reliable I believe you. SC has definitely reached out to some different parties and you’re probably right Dawn will shore up her roster.

She also isn't afraid to dig into them when they aren't doing what they are supposed to do, will HVL be able to handle it like Flau'Jae, Morris and the others were?
That’s one thing our team was lacking this year, we need a player that refuses to lose and shows more passion, hope Rickea can do that for us. And yes I think HVL will handle it because they are champions and I would think she respects that.

Actually, I think Jackson is a more skilled player..
If Key is back to normal Jackson will be player of the year in the SEC next season. The way Key takes up space in the lane will give Jackson a lot more freedom to work her shots in there. They can double team her or whatever, but that will just make Key the big scorer as she can pass quite well also.

Reese is a much better rebounder but Jackson is a much better skilled offensive player with range

Not dragging down anyone. Every player has their strengths

Both elevate their teams
We don't know what Jackson will work on this summer. What if she becomes a 35 percent three point shooter instead of 30 percent then what she brings is hard to guard anywhere on the court.

I get a lot of friction for my visibility and presence in the recruiting process....
so I have backed away from this aspect.
In the offseason, read a lot of the posts and only comment on what I feel I should.

I did coach Ace in the Elite-80 two years ago

Then I'll die a happy man and she'll go as a lottery pick. Calling out the many WNBA analysts now not putting Rickea even in the first round next yr.
Pretty sure they built those lists assuming that she was entering the draft this season, especially when she was projected to be a top 5 pick this year.

I'm still watching to see where Barnum goes she is a handful to guard and can shoot the perimeter shot. Going to be a huge pickup for some team. Coulibaly still hasn't announced anything although some people keep saying she is leaning A&M. Stay tuned.

Nah, I've listened to/seen several post draft discussions about next yrs class and they don't rate Rickea highly if at all. That Locked On one rated that Schere girl at KY in the top 20 but not Rickea! Of course they also called Olivia Miles a generational talent so . . .

Some of them are mad at Rickea, also I think an underwhelming NCAA tourney hurt her. Forgetting about the awesome SEC tourney she had. But it all means nothing, she has a chance to play her way onto the lists that count, the GMs of the actual teams.

I am certain it is an oversite. I saw players in the top ten that I wouldn't take three for one in a trade for her. She will be in the top nine depends on what kind of year she has. She is going in a strong draft next season, but she is still a first rounder regardless of what those drafts say now.

That's the sticking point. She is NOT trying to be the second fiddle. She's an ALPHA dog.
If HVL truly is ring chasing, she has to know playing on another top team means she won't be able to jack up 30 shots a game IMO

I suspect even with her big ego and personality she knows this. Also you don't need giant stats to be recognized or to get drafted where you want. SC/Boston is the perfect example. Its in HVL's best interest IMO to not only score but better her teammates around her. That looks more valuable to scouts than jacking up 30 shots and 20 points a game to me. Wherever she goes, this is the opportunity to expand her game all around rather than being a one player show.

I think the opposite, Rickea thrives in the paint and if Key is taking up that space I don’t think that’s a good thing, give Rickea the space to work.

LSU she is looking at about 10 to possibly 15. Reese needs her close to 20 and they have a freshman coming in that will start that needs probably 10 and then there is Johnson and the big girl freshman. She will have to lower those shots way down. If she wants to shoot it a lot would need a better choice than LSU or SC neither of them are a place your going to shoot the ball over 20 times if you play guard.

I don’t worry about what the so called experts say, she will be a top 10 if not top 5 pick.
