This is also why I said people needed to chill a day or two ago when they were freaking out wanting to know wtf Barnes was doing or calling his efforts pathetic since we passed on Gurley and Gardner...chill out and let’s see what happens.
Guess landing Powell didn’t happen
Interesting...apparently there’s some drama with his family that went down, guess he won’t be heading to play for his dad at Mississippi State.
The fact he has Auburn and UK on his list like Kessler makes you hope you can get 1/2
Apparently we are in it for Garrison Brooks too and with those 4 you said we will still have an open spot since Fulky doesn't count toward the 4 we have open. So, is the ideal close to this roster with the current names in the portal and no other additions essentially Fulky, Aidoo, BHH, and Kessler?
Probably a less than 10% chance of happening but we don’t need any other guards so adding those 4 to the front court would be probably best case scenario and easily put this roster in pre-season Top 20 next year.
Both of those teams also have misses, you just don’t realize it because you aren’t a fan of those programs so you’ve just seen big picture from the outside. Every player Tennessee takes we remember and analyze and grade, we just remember the good players from opposing teams for the most part.Powell hasn’t played a game for us yet. I was referring to the transfers we have taken and seen results. Ours have mainly wasted roster spots or had mixed results. Bama and Arky have hit big is my point in that post. Powell should be good since he has shown ability in this league already.

I’m sure that will be communicated to both.Probably will make for some tough decision on which do you pursue the most. They clearly know each other and I doubt they want to go to same school so they will talk. I’d personally go for Kessler upside if I had to pick but would gladly take Brooks veteran polish with a young backcourt
True, It would honestly be hard for me to choose which one I would prefer over Brooks and Kessler. Each would probably only be here for a year and Brooks is more polished, but Kessler is more intriguing. With that being said, I would be ecstatic with eitherI guess I was counting Tamba as being part of the team next year even though nothing is official. Seems like we have heard his name as a silent commit for months.
I also can’t see Brooks and Kessler going to the same place.
Why do you think Kessler would only be here for a year? I’d rather take my chances w Kessler. With as long as his dad has been at MSU, I thought it odd the automatic assumption that he'd just trot on over to play for him. If that option was so attractive, he'd have done it the first time around, I'd think. Some kids just don't want to play for their parents.Interesting...apparently there’s some drama with his family that went down, guess he won’t be heading to play for his dad at Mississippi State.

Yeah, I don't think anyone is upset over turning away from Gardner. Gurley looks like a player, though, IMO. And I'm fine with the staff passing there if they land one of these bigger fish, but if we swing and miss on all of Brooks, Kessler, Dante, etc., then the heat is on over the decision to not push hard for Gurley. And I understand the "chill out, wait and see" attitude, but it's discussion-worthy in the meantime.I wasnt big on offering him anyway.
