And yet couldn’t even put together a .500 team this year…if you think Auburn has a better basketball program as of today there’s not really much to discuss with you.

That wasn’t the discussion. Would I rather have Tennessee’s team this year? Yes. Has Auburn been more successful the past 4-6 years? Yes. Both things can be true.

Also if Auburn comes out of the NCAA investigation relatively clean in the next few months they’ll be back.

BTW, despite us having a better team last year they still once again beat us 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂

I wasn’t referring to just this year, Tennessee has the better program right now, not really even close.

As for the bolded, hasn’t Barnes owned Cal, what’s that matter?

The only negative thing I can really say about Barnes is his tournament success but as for stabilizing the program, recruiting, and putting us back on a respectable level, he’s done an absolutely incredible job.

Tennessee wasn’t in a great spot before Barnes took over.

It’s essentially a 2 season sport, you can’t sit here and claim South Carolina is elite because they made a F4, but you also can’t simply ignore Tennessee’s lack of postseason success either…their regular season run the last 4 years is top 10 in the country, they’ve made the dance as many as any other team but haven’t had elite success in the dance.

I know this will be shocking, but you can actually want and expect both!

I just don't see the appeal for Cockburn to play for Kentucky. He doesn't fit the scheme.

The game has evolved where Centers & PF’s can actually shoot the basketball.

This is where I think BHH and Aidoo can flourish against someone like Cockburn whom isn’t known to be a shooter.

Lol so for actual transfer portal news...since that's the name of this thread.

Kofi Cockburn has officially withdrawn his name from the NBA Draft and is staying in the portal. So he's officially the "biggest" (pun intended) name in the portal right now.

Ughhhhh

Exactly. I think he would be better suited for a slower tempo offense.

Auburn is a stretch imo, nice F4 run but we counting South Carolina too then?

Arizona hasn’t been to a NCAAT in 4 years, that’s laughable.
To be fair 2 years ago was cancelled and last year they were suspended from postseason play. Arizona has massively underachieved compared to the powerhouse they used to be though.

Impossible I was just told yesterday Kentucky doesn’t matter in college basketball anymore!
If Kentucky adds Cockburn, then they will have the best roster on paper in the country. They literally filled all of their holes from last year via the transfer portal

Isn't Kentucky's "scheme" to have a player or two attempt to take over a game. If I had to name a team that was scheme-less it would be Kentucky. That's why they are so hot and cold when you are so reliant on one or two players. That's not to say Cal's teams in the past are the same as they are now. I think it's the evolution of the "one and done" strategy. You bring in 3-4 studs and every game is just a showcase to get to the NBA.
