Transfer QB

Well I'm sure we'll be going after the biggest time quarterback we can possibly get. But, i think at least adding some sort of serviceable backup is not a bad idea. Having four scholarship quarterbacks is probably the minimum, right?

Milton will be the only qb on next year's roster with significant live snaps..... he'll be qb#1 next year, if he goes down, we'll need someone experienced to step into the lineup.

We still have Milton. Who gives a f*** if we get a transfer, in the games Milton has played he has looked amazing and threw one of the prettiest damn td passes I've ever seen. Not only that but he has Cam Newton size and rushing ability, I may get flamed for saying that but it's true
Edit: my whole point was is that I believe UT will be in great hands next year with Milton taking snaps

You're not alone in believing that. He certainly has improved it looks. A lot of people on here are expecting him to bounce back BIG TIME in 2023.

I think it will be Nico. Whoever it is, will have to earn it

My guess, and just my guess here, which isn’t worth much….. 3 years in the system, living with Hendon (essentially an internship of all the things required for QB1.. media, film, work), ELITE arm.. Milton is QB1 next year and it’s not close. Passing game stays elite.

Really? And HH5 is the 6th best QB to be drafted (according to some)

Huh.....

It's mostly due to the overall talent level. A-Rich has the arm/speed/size combo that teams drool over in today's NFL. So they are willing to overlook his overall performance. It's why someone like Trey Lance went 3rd overall a couple years ago despite playing at an FCS program and throwing barely more than 300 total passes in college.

Yes we were. That is why he was permanently replaced early in the saeson. That doesn’t necessarily mean that we will be bad with him as a starting QB next year. However, he has not proved so far that he can transfer supposedly strong play in practice to an actual game as the starting QB. Some guys are gamers. So far, he has definitely not been a gamer. In any case, he’ll have to win the starting job next year.

The offense still moved well with him at QB last year. That's a fact. He made the correct read every time too. Again, the ONLY issue was the overthrows (and a bit of fumbilitis) So far, he seems to have resolved the over throw issues.

Tray Lance pick really left me confused. If I remember correctly he only played one full season of college ball.
If Milton plays as good as he has here lately. He should have no issue getting drafted in some round.

Looking ahead I think Milton and Jackson will play most of the game against UTMartin. After the AL game Hooker will most likely need a break.

Let’s be honest, Alabama is strong physically and will be looking to beat up on Hooker, maybe not to hurt him but to at least affect his play. Don't think Saban has not told his defense to aggressively attack Hooker.

So, we may actually learn a lot more about Milton and Jackson after UTM game. Yes, they are not major level competition, but it will give us more exposure to both Milton/Jackson skills and progress. And, I’m sure coaches are anxious to see both play in real games and rest Hooker for tough remaining schedule.

Not sure I buy it. . . maybe a backup transfer, but I think Tayven Jackson is a good backup. May need a #3 backup, in case TJ and Milton were hurt and Nico is trying to redshirt.
It could be to cover Milton just in case of injury or performance or TJ may hit the Portal but even if he doesn't you can't have enough QB'S. Milton has little experience and TJ has none and Nico needs to redshirt that would be best let him add weight. So I could see them looking in the portal for a good QB.

I was a little surprised to hear J. Crompton say that UT will bring in a big time transfer QB after the season. What do ya'll think?

It’s hard to find positions we don’t need transfers at next season. Take them all. Win now
