That Micheal Bay for ya, if theres a plot hole, better make a explosion .

True dat. Some movies, it's alright. Thing is, if he was directing a romantic comedy, there would be explosions every time the man and woman kissed.

But, laughably, I'm going to the midnight showing tonight. Buddies invited me.

Oh yes, he also is guilty of sepia-toning every freaking movie he does.

Ebert's review is hilarious. He gave it 1 star (he gave the first one 3 stars). Some snippets:

quote:
"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" is a horrible experience of unbearable length, briefly punctuated by three or four amusing moments. One of these involves a dog-like robot humping the leg of the heroine. Such are the meager joys. If you want to save yourself the ticket price, go into the kitchen, cue up a male choir singing the music of hell, and get a kid to start banging pots and pans together. Then close your eyes and use your imagination.

quote:
The movie has been signed by Michael Bay. This is the same man who directed "The Rock" in 1996. Now he has made "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen." Faust made a better deal. This isn't a film so much as a toy tie-in.

quote:
Aware that this movie opened in England seven hours before Chicago time and the morning papers would be on the streets, after writing the above I looked up the first reviews as a reality check. I was reassured: "Like watching paint dry while getting hit over the head with a frying pan!" (Bradshaw, Guardian); "Sums up everything that is most tedious, crass and despicable about modern Hollywood!" (Tookey, Daily Mail); "A giant, lumbering idiot of a movie!" (Edwards, Daily Mirror).

The more critics trash a summer movie the better it tends to be! I will not be going to the mid-night show but I will catch it before Sunday.

Speaking of sucking, that poor excuse for a message board IMDB has going...

This is wonderful news!

This can only mean that the focus of the movie is robots and the human interaction is pure comedy with explosions!

Furthermore it can only mean the end battle will last close to 40 minutes!

The first one was bad enough. Granted, it would be a fairly cool special effects show if they cut out about 45 minutes of the talking and mindless dribble between the robots and the humans. Those parts made me want to turn it off, and I eventually did. "Stop lubricating on the human" was the last straw. I've since seen the final battle scene which is fairly cool from a videogame and CGI fan perspective.

Unless they have gone a different direction here (which reviews suggest they didn't), I can't imagine I'll be sitting through this one any time soon. The dialog and interaction between the robots and humans are straight from a seven year old's mind and completely stupid.

I heard there is a "black" Transformer that talks ghetto and has a grill.. no not a bbq grill, a set of gold teef.

Nice Mr Bay, does the dancing frog from the WB come out and sing Hello My Darlin to rap up the movie??

Pearl Harbor's slow motion action scenes for the last 45 minutes + Crank 2's one liners + The Lion King + Watching someone else play X box (which is basically what CGI fight scenes feel like) + failed humor = Transformers 2

Let me get another straw for you, Anthony Anderson is the robot, and the idea for the facial aspects of the robot were his idea.

Going to see it in IMAX this Sunday. The first one was awesome. BTW, to all the brainiacs in here that are knocking the movie, take your brain out and leave it at home and you will enjoy action and special effects movies much more. You have to understand what you are viewing. I can't wait to see this movie.

I should have done a better job qualifying the type of movie and said,Big summer potential type blockbuster.

All those listed movie never had that potential. As to critics reviews.I tend to ignore or not read them as evidenced by seeing them all and found them watchable. My lowest rating. But what the hey.

i tend to disagree with saying Love Guru wasnt suppose to be a big blockbuster, Mike Myers has always had a successful franchise of movies even with a few bad reviews now and again. The moment that the public heard from pre screenings that it was a horrible movie, they stayed away. Point taken though, i try not listen to critics entirely.
