Wait a minute. You seem to be making conflicting statements here. Isn't the USA Women's Basketball National Team basically the same thing as a WNBA super team? I can't think of any current foreign players who would make the USA Olympic team.

And yes, I realize your post was from almost a month ago.

Not exactly.

No doubt that there is probably not another women’s team that could beat the US Women. BUT there are undoubtedly individual female players from other countries that would be considered among the best (think Greek freak, Luka, Gasol, etc) just as in the men’s game.

The US Women alone could not put 5 on the court that could keep up. Take 2-3 of the best from the world and add them to the best 2-3 from the US and you might get a sufficient combination of size and speed.

You would essentially need 5 Candace Parker’s to make it a game imo.

Shouldn’t the size of the rim be proportional to the size of the ball? I never knew the women’s ball was smaller. That certainly inflates shooting percentages compared to the mens!

Basically, JR high boys play with the same ball as WNBA. Between 1/4-1/3 of an inch smaller in diameter than regulation mens.

The speed alone would eliminate the women. I don't care if it is Candace Parker in her prime, she was 3 to 4 steps slower down the court than some top HS freshmen. The women would need to hit at least 75% of their shots that weren't blocked to even have a chance. Every miss and rebound would be an uncontested dunk on the other end.

I watched the 4th quarter of the lady Vols win over Arkansas Sunday. First lady’s bball I’d seen in years and it made me ask how in the world do they play with those waist long weaves and huge fake eyelashes? Also, in this day how does the Arkansas coach survive touching his players so much?

I never said it would be easy, or even probable.

But yes, there would be no mitigating the speed advantage the boys would have.

The only chance would be 5 women of sufficient length and agility to at least deny the paint in the half court set, and tall enough to shoot over the boys out on the perimeter.

Will do you no good to send Sue Bird or Diana Taurasi out there…. Gonna have to field 5 women in the 6’4” to 6’9” range. (And yes, hope they shoot the lights out)

So, would it be OK to put our 8 to 17 YO boys on HGH so they gain the height and frame to carry D1 mass and strength, then just use "supplements" to help them "naturally" be the best athlete they can be?
