Trevor Etienne Portal Rumors

Think I read somewhere earlier today that Florida has lost a flood of players since the portal opened last week, like more than a dozen. And some of them, like Etienne, well up in the depth chart.

Something going wrong down there? Hate to see it.....

With all due respect to our Florida regular posters, I'll say this about JP's post. It's sincere. And also, when he says "I hate to see it", of course he wants us to beat the Gators every game from now until the sun supernovas, BUT, he's saying that because the VOLS have had a rough go over the last decade. I can't speak for JP, but I think he's saying, gosh we feel your pain because we are STILL recovering from poor coaching hires (even though we seem to still like Heupel), and it really sucks to have a GOOD program coming apart at the seams.

For you Florida guys, I'm happy the swing is occurring, however y'all still beat us, and for what it's worth, I don't think your "doldrums" will be as prolonged as what has happened at UT. Yup, after a decade you can think it'll turn around. After 20 years though, you wonder. All I can say is, I have tickets to be in Neyland on 10-12-24. If any of you UF guys happen to come to the game, I know a guy that will let you steal a beer out of his cooler at a tailgate. Would be fun for YOU.

Quality post.

I’ve followed UF football dating back to the mid-70s and was a student during our mid/late 80s probation days. I was also lucky enough to be in the building for seven of our SEC titles and all three of our national titles.

As a fan, all you can hope for is an opportunity to experience “that feeling”, whether it’s beating a rival, upsetting a higher ranked team, or better yet winning a championship.

Tennessee fans haven’t had that feeling in a while…got a brief taste of it last season, and are hungry for more. College football is forever changed with the portal and NIL, and the unpredictability makes chasing that feeling tougher.

Appreciate the invite to tailgate next year, but my road game traveling days are over. Hell traveling from Orlando to Gainesville is a pain in the ass now.

I’ve been to Neyland nine times from 1994-2010 and had a blast just about every time…’98 being the exception. My crew tailgated behind Copper Cellar with UT fans, and in odd-numbered years we hosted about a half dozen UT fans in Gainesville near Tigert and Little Hall.

Great times and great memories, and oftentimes the game’s outcome was secondary to the gameday experience.

Not sure what the point of this long, rambling post was, so since my mind is drawing a blank I’ll conclude by saying…you guessed it…0-12.
