What do you know? Our best OL player is out indefinitely. Tennessee is under a curse right now which hopefully Pruitt can save us from.

Sincerely hope the best and a speedy recovery for Trey Smith.

Everybody keeps saying "rumors are". Do these rumors have a source?

The internet. If it is are true, all we can do is wish him well. Why people would be privvy to medical problems of that nature so soon after discovery is beyond me. Id imagine anyone with close enough ties to the program to even know such things would at least have enough respect for the young man to keep it private and not spill the beans over a public forum. Either weve got some incredible asses on here for spilling the beans or weve got some incredible asses for making up such rumors. Either way, weve got some incredible asses on here.

May God bless and comfort him, his family and his friends.

If it be Gods will, may he place his healing hands on him and return him to full health and allow him to play the game he loves so much and has worked so hard to excel at.

In Jesus name we pray,

Amen.

VFL...GBO!!!

Praying for Trey.Hopefully the rumors aren't true, but if they are, we are the most injury riddled program of all time. Never seen anything like it in my lifetime.

Is this a football related issue? From reading this thread it sounded like it was a medical issue not something football related.

From posters on the pay sites.
But they were posting about it before the story broke so they obviously knew something. The first to post about it apparently knows the family. And he was saying Smith's career was possibly over.

First of all, prayers out to Trey and I hope the young man is OK.

Second, "sigh" DAMN IT ALL! Why can't we have nice things?

makes me hate Cade Mays even more

Well, you know Cade is a cad.
So don't be so freaking mad.
See here, a cad's going to do what cads do.
Everybody knows that and so do you.

Seriously man, who needs "mays-onaise" (Cade Mays - 5A) when mustard and horseradish (Jerome Carvin - Class 6A) is a better, or at least a spicier deal?

Actually, I don't have anything against Cade. He made a PERSONAL decision he felt was in his best interests. Given the uncertainty at the UT then, it made sense. And it was his right to make his own choice instead of making one that people who know nothing about him as a person wanted him to make. Live with it.

now, about Trey, that's a bad hit for us. Very bad. I can only hope it is something that passes quickly. And something comes nowhere within 600K light years of what my over-imaginative brain fears is the problem. And so I let it go at that.

The Trey Smith news is making me start to wonder.
Our inordinate amount of injuries.
How we always get the West rotator on the upswing
Pats illness
Pearls barbecue
Lane leaving after one year
Dooley being a dud
Jones a carnival barker
Cuonzo becomes better when he leaves
Baseball falling apart despite hiring a previous winner
The only Jumbotron crane can’t get to Knoxville

I’m sure you guys can add lots more to the list.
Is our program cursed?
Is it the cadavers used in classes at Neyland?
I’m now willing to explore all options and ready to hire an exorcist, shamman, witch doctor, etc. to lift the curse and cleanse our program.

Karma has creative and nasty ways of dealing with people who deserve it. Perhaps Tennessee folks in general and Vols fans in particular should adjust our attitudes and behavior in general. It does seem strange how we're experiencing all these hits one after another.

What did Tennesseans do to deserve such karma?

His health is more important than football; whatever it is, I hope he gets it sorted.

That said, I'm starting to believe the curse is real. And doubting we will ever pull out of this long slump.
