Trey Smith out for Spring Practice

Consulted my medical advisor.....if clots, heavy dose of 'clot buster' meds. Similar to treating stroke. Possibly removing the portion of the blood vessel where clot(s) are forming. Best case that's it Trey gets on with his NFL HOF career. Or, may need continuing meds and monitoring. Or, career in high contact sport is too risky. Whether A,B,or C best wishes for a long, fulfilling life.

I'm no doctor - perhaps we'll hear from those on here who are - but risk of further blood clotting could be a life changer for the young man and athlete. Best wishes to Trey for getting the best help/technology medicine can offer.

If it truly is a blood clot issue, then its likely his career is over. Its not worth risking it. I hope thats not the case for Smith. I hope the young man heals up.

I was craving some off-season news, just not this kind!

The very thin silver lining is that it allows us to better evaluate the other potential starters.

Doesn't sound like a serious injury, hopefully it isn't. (edit: IDK, some rumors are bleak)

Ideally it is one where he can still get in some quality time in S&C program.

do you have selective reading skills? Doesnt sound serious? They are talking about career ending. It is very serious

I have a bad feeling about this. Idk what the rumors are, but the way it’s being reported doesn’t give me good thoughts on what it might be. Hope for the best for him whatever it may be.

On the Sports Source show this morning, the panel discussed a thin roster (only 77 scholarship players are available for spring practice) as well as Trey Smith's injury and a pretty solid signing day.

I think the voodoo/juju stuff is being brought up facetiously (I hope), but someone should point out that the decline of the football program started when Fulmer turned in Alabama for cheating and then couldn't set foot in the state for a certain time without receiving a summons. Causation? No. Should he have done it? Probably I suppose. But we have been spiraling downward since. Butch's 9-4's don't count; they both should have been so much more.

Phil gets too much too much credit/blame for “turning in” Bama. Three schools did so: UT, FLA,ARK.
but, media ran with the narrative that Phil was the snitch and Bama fans made him public enemy number one.

Totally correct, but for some reason Phil was the one who had to dodge the lawyers.

Let's pray Trey Smith's health improves and he's back on the field soon. Losing Smith means that the Vols have yet to reach rock bottom:cray:
