True Blood

Agreed on both. FS is definitely better when they are off on their own. You ever watch Justified or Shameless? 2 best all around shows on tv. IMO

Coug, NM I know you watch justified. We have pretty similar tastes, so I recommend Shameless. Excellent writing, acting, everything never a dull moment.

Yes I'm talking to myself.

So basically now we have zombie vamps due to Hep V mutations - why does everything have to be zombie connected?

That's what I was saying, nowadays everything has to do with zombies. If it was not for the wife still wanting to watch then I would be done with this show.

That ending was absolutely horrible. Zombie vampires. That was the worst attempt at a Walking Dead imitation that I've ever seen. And the whole thing about every human needing a vampire - stupid beyond belief. It's almost as if the show is purposely trying to be stupid.

This show really did used to be very good. It's almost like they lost all the good writers and replaced them with interns.

I don't think the writing was ever that great, it's just that it was fun and fresh. Few 60 minute shows should go beyond 3-4 seasons. Unless it's top-notch writing it becomes one ridiculous attempt to one-up yourself, after another.

I think the first couple seasons were decently written. Then they decided to bring in every other super natural creature, remember werepanthers (or whatever)? They also decided everyone needs an on going storyline. They spread it out so much that they lost site of the original premise. Sookie, Bill, Eric need to be the main focus. Side stories to Jason, Sam, and occasionally one for another character. The rest of the cast needs to just be there to help those characters storylines. One main antagonist a season, and stick to that for the season. It's so all over the place and trying to cover so many stories it hurting the writing. Imo

Just watched the finale. For the first half I really wasnt sure what all the complaining was about, but then the second half happened.

I really don't understand some of the logic of the writing. For instance, the random Tara and her mom thing. That hasn't hardly been touched on at all this season, and then they tried to make a big dramatic scene out of it.

On a side note, Tara is slipping very quickly into irrelevancy.

And the last scene, I really don't understand. So the zombie vampires are about to go attack the party of regular vampires, aren't we to understand the regular vamps are probably about to slaughter them since they are so much stronger than the zombies? Not much of a cliffhanger......

I dunno, this show sucks. I watch it by default every year. It's one of those shows that I started watching back when it was a good show, now I just watch it because I know who the characters are and I have nothing else to do.

Whatever, bring on Boardwalk Empire HBO, now THAT is a terrific show.

This!

Lafayette needs more air time. He is entertaining and funny.

Lafayette was hilarious in the first few seasons. "Hooka Please!" He is seriously underutilized anymore.

Her mom is crazy! I'm thinking her mom is infected with Hep V and she just effectively killed Tara.

I think it mutated in the vamps, not in the humans. The were taking blood to make sure people didn't have it, so they could be donors.

BTW, has anybody seen Shepherd Smith go off about True Blood? It's so funny. He makes what seems to be a weekly appearance on the Soup because they have footage of him rambling about True Blood on Fox News. It's pretty hilarious. Can't tell if he truly loves the show or if he's punking me.
