Trump bullies the CDC and schools

My biggest disappointment out of it is realizing how much we will lose on the other side of this thing and how willingly people will give up almost anything out of fear or the promise to be kept safe . Before this is all over , ( imo ) the liberties we lost from 9/11 is going to pale in comparison.

I cannot be disappointed in things which may happen; no matter how likely. I will say that the future on the other side of this is a big concern for me.

True ... I could have said my biggest disappoint is knowing we allowed ourself to be driven to the edge of a cliff and we are willing giving up rights to the machine that is driving us for the promise of being kept safe . There has to be a movie plot in there somewhere . Lol

That's exactly what I want, let everyone do what they feel is best for them and their families. We all should have the freedom to go out to dinner or shop just as well as some of the right to stay locked up at home.
And there's also the moderation method. Going out but being safe while doing it. There's certainly more than two options on how to live your life with this pandemic

Has everything to do with politics, the mayor is a radical and deserves to be recalled. I live in Murfreesboro so I'm only about 40 min from downtown Nashville

More evidence that you know caca about anything. John Cooper is no radical. He is a businessman with an MBA. Like his Congressman brother, he is a moderate Democrat. A radical mayor would not have overturned the declaration of Nashville as a sanctuary city.

No, I live just outside of Nashville. I wouldn't live in Davidson County.

The massive property tax hike is a direct result of Covid, no way that get's passed without Covid and it will lead to even more gentrification. Nashville is and has been actively trying to dive out it's poor residents.

Are you high? Nashville had not had a property tax increase since 2012 and gained 100,000 in population during that time. The tax increase was going to happen this year because of budget shortfalls from last year.

Without Covid there would have been no chance of him getting that much of an increase passed. Nashville needs to tighten it's belt and stop spending money.

Hard to do when your infrastructure is inadequate to handle massive population growth. The Metro Council approved it 22-8.

If they choose to fine but I don't believe the government making people wear a mask is a good thing. Want to wear a mask, have at it. Don't want to wear a mask that's fine too

Ok so clearly you don't know anything about either of them. Both are loony radicals

Yep and the poor will be leaving in droves. I know of two tax credit/section 8 properties that are currently emptying for redevelopment and expect to see several more.

if a staff member or student tests positive that school will be shut for 14 days which will put a greater strain on parents by not knowing what to expect from one week to the next

This is the point I am struggling with currently. My child's school has offered one of two options. Either on site class full time with masks strongly encouraged along with the unknown of a government mandate requiring masks at some point, or all online through their virtual academy. You have to commit to at least one semester either way. While I would prefer her to be on site with some type of normalcy, I'm leaning towards the virtual academy for at least the first semester to prevent her from being jerked around with potential school closings after a positive test. I also can't imagine a class full of six and seven year olds playing with their own saliva coated masks and then touching the masks of other kids.

So? This has been happening in Nashville for the last 40 years. It happens everywhere.

It's been the Mayors office (regardless of who has occupied it) mission to gentrify the city and make it white and wealthy.
It's been happening since 1980 when Second Avenue was revitalized. The C of C has been behind most of it.

LOL

My wife has been in Nashville commercial and residential real estate for 30 years. Everything from section 8 to class A properties, it goes back to Bredesen.

.. and pop went the weasel. 😂

The real bully is congress not passing any liability legislation concerning CoVId. It has reached so low that all the charity golf tournaments are being "postponed" because of the liability risk. Didn't realize it's impacting people returning to work, employers are concerned that an employee will sue if they get it after returning to work.

A congress full of lawyers will not pass such legislation.
