Trump called Roseanne Barr to congratulate her on huge ratings success

Apologizing to people that want to bury you is not necessarily taking the high road.

In the mind of a child, maybe.

In Huff's fantasy world, adults are accountable for their actions and should own their mistakes and do their part to correct them, regardless of what anybody else is doing.

He tweeted that he hoped Macy's was boycotted forever, that their "stores suck, and they are bad for USA". All because they stopped selling his suits. An adult would apologize. Macy's isn't trying to bury him, they're just scared of associating their brand with someone so toxic.

Maybe Trump would have been extended that courtesy if he had ever* apologized for the terrible things he's said about the many people he's insulted.

*correct me if he ever has. I'm not sure there's one apology out there and hundreds of insults flying around. He called Rosie O'Donnell a "pig" and people think he deserves an apology from somebody?

I think that's part of what he's trying to point out with his tweets. He calls someone a pig and is Satan. Rosanne likens someone to an ape and is Satan's mistress. People liken him to an orangutan...? Oh. No worries. No problem.

Either it's wrong to insult people or it isn't in our Politically Correct culture. Either it's wrong to joke about or insult people's looks or it isn't.

Play the race card if you want. Call it racist and make it a special kind of insult, but it's really just about insulting. To make it about race by protecting one race over another in "insultability" is just as despicable as the other way around because then you've continued the entire concept of protected class over unprotected class.

It's all insulting. It's all meant to hurt. It's all meant to harm.

Either make it politically incorrect to want to harm, or call off the dogs and don't protect anyone with the world police mindset.

ETA: I find racist insults despicable, by the way. I'm not arguing for more racism, but for less purposed blind spots in the "who we can hurt" culture.

Good ol VN. Apparently, Jarrett's skin isn't black enough for Barr's tweet to be deemed offensive.

But I guess Trump's tan is horrendously orange enough to make the Oompah Loompah jab stick. Right?

If you prefer offending lighter skin over darker, then you have problems of your own.

When and why did they stop selling his suits?

Easy for you to say, Preacher. There really aren't a lot of dehumanizing insults you can throw at a white boy.

Trump's an orangutan because he chooses to go through a gallon of spray on a week.

The deep-rooted racism in comparing a black person to a primate has a history that speaks for itself.

When the left sets their sights on someone they don't stop until that person is completely destroyed, if they disagree with someone they are relentless. Disgusting group of people.

I think it's pretty hilarious that "your side" keeps conflating things that aren't racist with things that are racist.

Sure it's easy for me to say. You make it OK based on how it may or may not be received? OK. I'm a preacher. I make it not OK based on intent. I thought my post made that pretty clear.

And for the record, you sound pretty racist, insinuating that black people have thinner skin than white people. I guess it's OK to degrade the skin of other races if it's not about color, but thinness?

I prefer attacking chosen behavior as opposed to inherent qualities. Call me a ****ing innovator.

I prefer exposing people who want to hurt others. Period. You know what? Insulting anyone based on what they look like is a pretty crappy thing to do. I know it's a revolutionary concept.

You're just be obtuse today.

Can't insult white people with racially derogatory language because historically we've owned the system and have thought of ourselves as superior based upon race.

No.

No, he doesn't.

(Unless you mean that his point is that his followers are so incredibly stupid that they will think he is making a legitimate point, in which case you are right).

You're a little late to this... but as I said a page or two back... This is Trump playing the victim card and using whatabout-ism. Trump could have used this as an opportunity to condemn racism in all forms but he is never mature enough to use his pulpit for that and just leave it at that. Instead, he always makes unfortunate public episodes such as this, all about himself.

So we have better self confidence so should be open targets? And it's more OK for someone to try to offend and hurt me because white people did bad things in the past?

I'm looking for a valid point somewhere in there.

Note: I'm not saying it's OK to insult people of color. I'm saying it shouldn't be OK to insult anyone if you want to play the "words are dangerous and should have repercussions" game.

And a victim.

And a hypocrite. You want an apology, hand some out first, you child.

Sarah Sanders ducked the question all day yesterday insisting that the President was far too busy saving the world and stamping out disease to lower himself into this.

I wonder if she has a hard time looking at herself in the morning? I'll bet she needs two mirrors, one here and one over there.
