Trump called Roseanne Barr to congratulate her on huge ratings success

So we have better self confidence so should be open targets? And it's more OK for someone to try to offend and hurt me because white people did bad things in the past?

I'm looking for a valid point somewhere in there.

Note: I'm not saying it's OK to insult people of color. I'm saying it shouldn't be OK to insult anyone if you want to play the "words are dangerous and should have repercussions" game.

How do you think that we came upon this "better self confidence?"

I also find differences in targeting an individual for physical characteristics over which they have no control vs. targeting an individual based upon their actions over which they have total control.

Sarah Sanders ducked the question all day yesterday insisting that the President was far too busy saving the world and stamping out disease to lower himself into this.

I wonder if she has a hard time looking at herself in the morning? I'll bet she needs two mirrors, one here and one over there.

Once Trump is out of office, I have a feeling things might change but for now, members of the Trump cabinet and White House staff appear to be as shameless as he is.

As you hand out insult after insult to both Trump and his supporters almost daily on the forum......without ever apologizing to anyone.

I'm not POTUS and I'm not demanding apologies from anybody here for the insults I've received.

Furthermore, I have at times apologized for things I regretted saying here.

That's my point. I'm actually starting to believe that Trump is perfectly comfortable making himself a cultural mirror and using Twitter to force culture to look at themselves.

I find it amazing that one can get on here and say, "Why is it OK to attack anyone? Why not call for everyone to treat everyone with mutual respect? Why does anyone have an 'out' on respect and kindness?"

And get attacked for it.

While everyone attacks Trump for having no respect or kindness.

First, the narcissism of this man knows no bounds. He has made it about him. And he's referring to himself in the third person. Again. It is just astounding that he truly does believe that the entire world revolves around him.

Second, the fact that he either actually believes the two issues are equivalent, or that he thinks his supporters are that abjectly dumb enough to believe that they are, is disturbing. It means either that we have a complete moron running the country, or that he thinks that the people that voted for him are all morons that would accept his logic.
So you defend the double standard then.

Really? You didn't consider the possibility that someone with a name like "Valerie Jarrett" could have been born to diplomats?

Of course I considered that possibility. In fact I knew her racial makeup before I posted it.

I figured that comment might cause people to look it up. The more people digging into her background the better IMO. :hi:

They think it's ok to make fun of Sarah Sanders weight and looks. They aren't terribly consistent about criticism or apologies. If it weren't for double standards, they wouldn't have standards.

It seems the liberals on the board are doing backflips to make it OK to attack "some" people... wink wink.

And most of the conservatives on the board are hiding in the corner when this comes up because they're afraid of being attacked by the PC crowd.

I don't. It's the same thing as Trump calling Rosie a pig. But then again, I'm not a liberal like septic. :)

There are so many nasty Sarah Huckabee Sanders insults that could be spun from this... If she was a liberal, one of our conservatives would have taken a swing at this by now. Let the record show, no liberal has said a thing (and this wasn't easy to pass on).

Did you get that off a bumper sticker?

I like the way you keep saying "they." If you're talking about whoever that comedian was that performed at the press dinner... most people regardless of political affiliation criticized her.

Furthermore, you've taken the position that all insults are equal. I disagree. I think that insults based upon the inherent and uncontrollable physical characteristics are worse than insults based upon someone's behavior.

Edit - Realized you weren't the one using they, but you generalized an event and group. Sorry for the confusion

We know where YOUR thoughts always are.....no need to keep proving it......

I think that any attempt to hurt another makes you an *******. You seem to be trying to find acceptable gradients of being an ******* so that you can excuse *******ness.

Perhaps that's actually where we disagree?

Yes, we've all seen the rebukes from the conservative crowd when one there own makes a comment about Moochelle being a dude.

:good!:

LOL, look at this bozo inserting himself into the narrative to make it about him. LOL

Trump is ****** dolt.

His ego knows no bounds, but don't kid yourself. The whole point of this story being dragged out is to insert Trump in the narrative.
