Trump called Roseanne Barr to congratulate her on huge ratings success

I've been very specific about my beliefs and will be happy to answer any question you may have. At its most general, I believe that it's always wrong to attack others.

And you still didn't answer exactly what's "wrong" with racist comments. You're using vague descriptions like "turns [genetic qualities] against them" and "***s on their identities".

Does it boil down to using words to harm an innocent? If so, we'll get down to whatever it in in your mind that makes it more OK to harm one innocent than another.

Would you broaden that and fill me in on exactly why it's OK to intend to harm one innocent and not another? Or "more" ok, if you want that distinction.

And your verbal attacks are noted. I think you're wrong to do it, but I forgive you.

Sorry, friend. Not getting sucked into this hole. It's grown preposterous.

I am not prepared venture into the rabbit hole and parallel universe in which you like to argue. It may be a subjective belief, but in today's society racism is wrong. Society didn't consider it wrong until fairly recently, but it has been recognized as inherently unfair and wrong.

That's fine. You do realize that if it's only relatively wrong, it's not *actually* wrong, right? You realize that if it's societal wrong only, then it wasn't wrong when society viewed it as a good thing. Right? And if it's only culturally wrong, then it was a wonderful ideal in Nazi Germany.

Right?

Do you see the irony? You and Dink seem to be accusing me of not thinking racism "wrong enough" when I'm the only one in the conversation that's actually calling it actually wrong.

Hey tums let's go through our post history and tally up who's addressed huff the most so you can crawl back into your hole and shut the **** up for good. Lol.

I’ve never seen a poster worship another poster the way you do him. You go out of your way to defend him at every turn, it’s hilarious. You even had that creepy prison reference when he posted his picture.

I point out every time he posts something stupid. If you feel like that’s a lot then you should take it up with him. Perhaps you can talk about it in your dreams.

Whatever you say, tums. Lol. Glad to be here for your much needed catharsis. Gives your left hand a breather.

Would still buy you a beer.

Easy for you to say, Preacher. There really aren't a lot of dehumanizing insults you can throw at a white boy.

Trump's an orangutan because he chooses to go through a gallon of spray on a week.

The deep-rooted racism in comparing a black person to a primate has a history that speaks for itself.

I gave you specifics, but you refused to accept. It cracks me up that huff is known for arguing a lot but you are willing to debate semantics (disguised as morals lol) with a ****ing tree all damn day.

You do realize it was you that blew on the flames twice after I'd walked away from the discussion twice. Right?

calling someone half ape qualifies...

Technically she was referencing a movie, but either way, just by using the word "Ape", the tweet was undoubtedly racially motivated. IMO, she got what she deserved.

I don't understand why people believe it's hypocrisy she isn't being fired, she was hired solely for and has made her living by destroying the president every night.

JMO, but the hypocrisy rests in the fact that the left hires people to sling insults like that toward the right, then screams foul when someone slings insults in return. Yes, that is hypocrisy.

Anyone defending Barr's comments, well, I disagree with defending them. They were racist, they were bad, they shouldn't have been made. On the other side, anyone defending Bee's comments, you're wrong as well. Bee easily could have attacked the politics without referring to Ivanka by the name she did. It wasn't humor, it was hate. She stepped over a line just as clearly as Roseanne did.

There is nothing wrong with people wanting consistency. Behavior is either accepted as right or wrong. In this case both people were wrong. I see nothing wrong with people wanting Bee fired. Not because Barr was fired so Bee should be fired too, but simply because Bee's words were equally wrong. Of course some will argue RB's words were worse, but the truth is, hate is hate. They were equally hateful.

What I find baffling, Bee's words were scripted in advance. They were part of a TV show taped in advance. Presumably editors and censors did their job and saw nothing wrong with the spewing of such hate. The fact that so many saw the behavior as acceptable well in advance of the actual airing of the episode, it certainly makes the apologies that have come forth seem trite and empty.

All this really does in my opinion is highlight the hypocrisy of politics. "It's okay if my side does it but evil if your side does it." It's either right or it's wrong, and there should be some consistency in how it's addressed.

Some good points.

I think there are a couple of differences:
1. Bee made the comments on her show which is known to constantly bash Trump in a "humorous" borderline offensive way. That's her job. Like Hannity and Limbaugh are paid to bash the left.

2. Twitter is viewed as a public forum. Had Barr made the comment during a stand up routine at a comedy club, it would have still been inappropriate, but less so. You expect to hear inappropriate and controversial things at a comedy club. Twitter is a relatively new forum and what constitutes appropriate use is still evolving. Trump lags on the evolutionary scale.

That's ridiculous. Liberals hired her to call a woman the c word and be offensive, so that makes the left less hypocritical? That's your argument?

And you're saying it's better to call people racist names depending on what medium you use to do it?

Anyone else reading this?

You're just playing dumb now.

Eddie Murphy has a Friday night show at a night club. The next night he does SNL. The next day he speaks at a high school graduation. On Monday he speaks at the Boy Scouts' convention.

He realizes his material will need to change. What is found appropriately humerus depends on the venue, the audience, and their expectations.

Some material would be inappropriate in all 4 venues. Lots of material would be appropriate in one and completely inappropriate in another.

I know you're concrete, but even concrete expands.

The only expansion taking place here is the amount of room in that empty head of yours. You still can’t see the hypocrisy here.

We all know that if, Comedian x called Valerie Jarrett a feckless **** on TBS 3 years ago, that you would be calling for their head right now.

Eddie Murphy wouldn't speak at a high school graduation or a Boy Scout convention. You're horrible at what if scenarios.
