I don’t have one. Could have been open about his opinion on masks. My point is, if he’s so trusted and the expert, then what is everyone upset about with Trump. He gave Trump a huge pass. IMO what Trump said was him being a braggart like he always is. I know something you don’t kind of thing. Just like how he discussed a weapons system. It’s a massive character flaw. But if Fauci is saying he doesn’t see an issue then the issue is dead. What are your problems with Fauci? I don't feel like combing through 3-5 different threads to find out.
Fun fact: Hitler also got nominated.
Apparently context doesn’t matter to someI’m not buying that until you link the tweet announcing his nomination.
Hitler Gets Nominated – Kind of
Though Hitler banned anyone from Germany receiving the award, he might have made an exception for one person – himself. In 1939, Adolf Hitler was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize – kind of. It was actually a joke. Erik Gottfried Christian Brandt, a member of the Swedish Parliament, nominated Adolf Hitler for the award right before World War II would begin. Brandt wrote a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee that opened with:
“To the Norwegian Nobel Committee
I hereby humbly suggest that the Peace Prize for 1939 is awarded the German Chancellor and Führer Adolf Hitler, a man, who in the opinion of millions of people, is a man who more than anyone in the world has deserved this highly prestigious reward.”
Brandt was an anti-fascist and saw the nomination as a joke. Thus, he quickly took back his nomination for Hitler to win the award. He would go on to say that it was more of a critique of another nomination in that same year, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain.

No, Adolf Hitler didn’t go on to win the nomination. In fact, as previously stated, no one did. From 1939-1943, there would be no winners of the Nobel Peace Prize.
Backlash
Even though the nomination was quickly taken back, it still churned out plenty of backlash. Brandt would go on to be labeled as many things, such as insane and a traitor. He was taken aback, and released the response in which he stated it all was meant to be an ironic joke.
The Nobel Peace Prize has always been full of controversy. Since its inception, each award has been criticized due to the nature of how it’s awarded. Adolf Hitler’s nomination may have been a joke, but it makes you wonder, what would have happened if he had actually been nominated. What if he had won? It would have been truly ironic, with World War II starting, that, arguably, the main cause of the war, had won a Peace prize.
I think it's been pretty exhaustively discussed both here and in the news that his initial opinion on masks was to make sure that hospital workers would have them. Should he have recommended everyone wear a cloth mask? Absolutely.I don’t have one. Could have been open about his opinion on masks. I agree. He also understands that part of his roll is credibility. He can’t fake cover for him on something like this. If he does his credibility is shot with the public.I think it's been pretty exhaustively discussed both here and in the news that his initial opinion on masks was to make sure that hospital workers would have them. People seem to forget that Fauci works for Trump and that he's only going to go so far in his disagreement with him. I think Fauci has shown a willingness to disagree with Trump when it's medically necessary to do so, which is why I believe he went on all the talk shows in the early days of COVID. I'd imagine he sensed Trump wasn't taking it as seriously as it should've been taken at the time.
Personally, I think he's done a good job when he sticks to giving a strictly medical opinion about things, it's when he wades into the more political waters where he seems to be out of his depth.
That's assuming he knew at the time what Trump told to Woodward. Maybe he did, and if so I'd agree with you.I agree. He also understands that part of his roll is credibility. He can’t fake cover for him on something like this. If he does his credibility is shot with the public.
We’ve now passed Sweden, a country that did literally nothing, except tell people it was a big deal, in deaths per million. So if Trump had said "This virus is really bad" and proceeded to do the exact same policies... No one would have died.
Y'all make zero sense.
It's like you believe the virus hangs on Trump's every word the same way you guys do.
functioning brain is optional on the PF.Apparently context doesn’t matter to some
As A Bitter Joke, Adolf Hitler Was Nominated For The Nobel Peace Prize in 1939
It doesn’t matter what he told Woodward. The claim is Trump told Woodward he lied. Which he probably did say to him. But Fauci is saying he hasn’t seen evidence of that. That's assuming he knew at the time what Trump told to Woodward. Maybe he did, and if so I'd agree with you.
I think it's far more likely that Fauci was meeting with Kushner, Ivanka, or whatever other buffer in the early days of COVID and they just relayed that info to Trump. Or Fauci actually met with Trump and the only the response he got was a shrug of the shoulders and something along the lines of "we'll see what happens", which at the time would've actually been pretty appropriate. Once the seriousness of COVID became apparent is when Trump dropped the ball.
Do you realize how ****ing stupid that sounds? By doing nothing, they were communicating that it wasn't a big deal. That's what doing nothing means. We’ve now passed Sweden, a country that did literally nothing, except tell people it was a big deal, in deaths per million.
Let that sink in: Trump’s response has been worse than nothing.
Do you blame Trump for Cuomo sending COVID positive patients into nursing homes? We’ve now passed Sweden, a country that did literally nothing, except tell people it was a big deal, in deaths per million.
Let that sink in: Trump’s response has been worse than nothing.
Do you blame Trump for the 5 Democrat governors who forced COVID patients into nursing homes? We’ve now passed Sweden, a country that did literally nothing, except tell people it was a big deal, in deaths per million.
Let that sink in: Trump’s response has been worse than nothing.
Their government did nothing. Absolutely nothing. And they are doing better than we are, and have been for months.Do you realize how ****ing stupid that sounds? By doing nothing, they were communicating that it wasn't a big deal. That's what doing nothing means.
Trump's lockdown caused more people to die than doing nothing? That's your theory? Really?
We have the most obese, unhealthy population on planet Earth. But that's irrelevant. Trump talking about hydroxychloroquine and telling people to stay home made the virus mad so it killed more people.
You guys are shattering stupidity barriers I wouldn't have thought possible 8 months ago.
