Holy crap. It's a message board. You are taking all of this way too seriously. And you are not innocent in all this. You have been starting threads to purposely stir the pot and keep it at a boil. You even admitted as much.Retributive acts are never a good look.
The authoritarianism and fascism are getting a bit thick in here. I've been gently pointing it out for a while, but it's time to make myself clearly the enemy: the ridiculous demands, implicit and explicit, by many posters here to unwaveringly support the President of the United States without question, thought, or disagreement; the constant name-calling, insulting, denigrating, derogatorily labeling, slinging epithets, ostracizing, and other markedly and intentionally negative behaviors; and the demands to keep a fundamentalist level of political doctrine purity in order to gain entrance to or remain part of a tightly confined in-group that claims to represent the majority of a specific political faction are all signs of an extremely sick and maligned world view that mirrors that of the loyal supporters of governments responsible for some of the worst atrocities of the modern era. You're better than that, and you know it.
You cannot, with any sense of self-respect, truthfully tell us that lifelong public servants and military service personnel with distinguished records under Presidents of both parties would suddenly develop such a strong case of TDS that they would lie under oath and under penalty of perjury with the shame, punishment, and career-ending stigma that come with such a conviction.
But, oh, the jollies that are being had tonight at their expense because they've not only been sacked in retribution, they've been drug through the mud, too. So good! God bless America, they got what they deserved! Yeehaw! MAGA!
It's going to be a nice, long Mardi Gras for a lot of people here as the parade of revenge continues, and we're all going to be worse off for it. And it saddens me that there aren't more people here willing to stand up, risk taking a fist to their online face, and call out behavior that is not only flat-out childish but pernicious and mentally and spiritually poisonous. And the record of it slowly steamrolling is right there in the backpages of the subforum. Mounds of data.
And yeah, I thought about the responses before I hit post. The accusations that I'm just trying to pretend to be high and mighty and better than everyone else. The assumptions (or "I don't have to assume, I know") that I'm just another week liddle' liberal snowflake cuck or another TDS victim who just thinks Orange Man Bad. The Whataboutism and redirection. The pointing out of my flaws and digging up old posts to make it even easier to Cancel me.
I don't care. I felt a burden to say something, I prayed about it, I typed it and sat on it. Whatever happens, happens.
Too many of you are better than this. I would hope all of you are. There's got to be a point where you realize that just because there's a little more silver in your bag at payday doesn't mean free reign to sacrifice anyone who disagrees with the Party. I wouldn't have said this if I hadn't been given a stirring of hope as well.
My God, we're a broken nation; please heal us.
If I understand correctly, the Vindman's are being relieved of duty in the WH but not being sacked.
Sondland is being sacked but he was a political appointee (if I recall correctly) and not a career service person.
To the extent they executed a shadow foreign policy that ran counter to the official policy of the WH then they should be out.
I disagree with making it a public spectacle or spiking the ball about it but if you have people in the organization that are trying to undermine official policy by going outside the chain of command (Vindman should know better being a career military guy) then you get rid of them.

Good Lord, would you just listen to yourself?according to Washington Post journalist Radley Balko, any sort of retribution against Vindman for his testimony is in and of itself an impeachable offense.
“Punishing Vindman for his testimony is itself an impeachable offense,” Balko tweeted. “It’s both retribution for telling the truth and a clear threat to anyone else who might contemplate testifying against Trump or filing a whistleblower complaint.”
