Sondland. He had various extremely minor roles in government but is in no way a career diplomat. He wasn’t a diplomat until Trump made him one. Which, as is par for the course, wasn’t until he steered tons of money to Trumps election effort.Ok maybe I am missing who exactly you are talking about specifically
Gordon Sondland was also fired today. According to the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics, Gordon Sondland was 1 of only 47 people to donate $1 million or more to Trump's presidential inaugural committee in 2017. Not all of Sondland's testimony before the House Oversight Committee reflected poorly on Donald Trump. He was a major supporter of Trump.
Gordon Sondland is a wealthy person. He doesn't need a job. However, such retaliation is both petty and vindictive. More than anything else, it just makes Trump look small.
This is nothing more than "what-about-ism". This is not a defense of Donald Trump's own petty and vindictive conduct.
That is not what Gordon Sondland was trying to do.Not really. He has a right to hire and fire whoever the hell he wants for whatever reason. The way he’s been treated I don’t blame him a bit for getting rid of anyone who is trying to undermine him or have him removed from office even those he would suspect of doing so. The s*** they come up with is pettiness. Nancy’s temper tantrum was pettiness. You want Trump’s actions to be pettiness but really have no f****** clue.

So Trump fired him why? And I already stated that giving those positions to donors was common. It sure as hell isn’t draining that swamp type behavior. But as I understand Trumps swamp behavior is to be ignored as he drains the rest of it. Which makes total sense.Sondland said Trump told him he didn't want a quid pro quo. He also testified it was his interpretation the money was tied to investigation.
And make ambassadorships are handed out to donors.
It is quite a statement that you think he did something wrong by complying with a subpoena. The question of whether or not his testimony was truthful doesn't seem to even be under consideration. He testified to some information that was damaging to dear leader and so that means he deserves whatever act of vengeance that Trump hands out. That is how an authoritarian state works, where the unconditional support and defense of the country's leadership is demanded, and all dissidents are punished with no regard for whether or not they have told the truth. The United States should be better than that. Then he should have kept his big mouth shut!

Sure he does. That doesn’t make the President above criticism for his decisions. Just bc he can make one doesn’t mean it’s justifiable.
Not a lib. But I know that’s Trump supporters programmed default mode if someone dislikes him. Now I have never said he doesn’t have the right to fire him. Doesn’t mean it can’t be criticized. Nor does it support the absurd notion that he’s “draining the swamp.” He’s as corrupt as the rest. And the fact you don’t see it makes you laughable.Nice try lib. The president can fire Sondland if he grows hair if he wants.
I haven't read through the whole thread. Has someone actually called it that? That is beyond ridiculous. Donald Trump appointed Gordon Sondland to his position in the first place. This is one of his own donors for crying out loud. That is like taking credit for putting out a fire you started. Not a lib.
