Trump on Outkick this morning

Oh look, somebody got mad cause he got caught peddling a falsehood that took all of 15 seconds to disprove.

Your posts definitely give credence to the stereotypical view that "hillbillies" are both under-educated and willfully ignorant.
Yes. That was wrong of me. I lost it. I probably need to stay out of this forum for awhile but I am sincerely sorry for making insulting slurs against you when all you did was point out that I brought incorrect information to the thread.

Nice of you to apologize.

The guy just called you undereducated and willfully ignorant though. He owes you an apology as well as all the hillbillies out there.

Fwiw...my dad was a hillbilly that retired as a full bird colonel with 2 masters and a B.S....one of the brightest and most educated people I have ever known...and he grew up on the side of a mountain with no indoor plumbing until he was in HS...

So basically f$%k this guy

So you would take advice about CV-19 from Clay Travis over that of Dr. Fauci?

Just cause you have a Dr. In front of your name doesnt make you a doctor nor a practicing doctor.

He is a bureaucrat. Nothing more, nothing less.

Just another guy in government with way too much power.

If there were any doubt about Clay Travis being the Trump-ass-kissing, know-nothing, hillbilly Candy shill that he is, this seals the deal.

Be sure to deploy your brain-slugs and join the Collective.

I love this meme. I would say the blind is leading the blind but the one leading the blind isn't willing to drink his own poison.

He said that as an afterthought in response to the interviewers question. WTH didn't he just lead with "don't buy up all the masks, save them for the HC workers"?
Regardless, Fauci didn’t say to save them for HC workers so they don’t get the virus. HC workers need them for a lot of things and deal with all kinds of infections and illnesses. Everyone just assumed Fauci meant so HC workers wouldn’t get the virus. He could have meant so they don’t run out in general.

Opinions (hypothesis) for the set of observable facts must be tested and either proven or disproven. Opinions change as they are proven and disproven. It is especially messy with regard to something like this that nobody has ever seen before.
So you give the scientists who study diseases and pandemics for a living a pass on something never seen before but not Trump? Solid take.

Why all the hate on Fauci for changing his mind or even just his rationale on masks?

That's what scientists do when the facts change. Its what normal people do when the facts change. Only an egomaniacal lunatic would insist on his outdated point of view for political gain at the expense of American lives.
Foreshadowing Biden’s mask mandate comments?

Government could implement or suggest curfews, lockdowns, travel restrictions, regular testing at certain intervals, any number of things that would instill far more fear. Added bonus would be that they could push those ideas without appearing to reverse their position and creating this doubt that certain people have about masks. "Citizens" aren't going to present meaningful resistance any more than they already are with masks.

But sure, your theory that they chose masks, of all things, as their hill to die on - BUT not immediately because they kinda just forgot, but then realized it later - is bulletproof.
You know that literally all of those things have been done right?

As far as I know trump has never read about an experiment, let alone conducted one. Trump is supposed to provide guidance based upon the best scientific evidence available. Instead, he's shown no desire to actually become knowledgeable on the subject and just spreads rumors and things he thinks might help. It is irresponsible.

When he disbanded the pandemic response team, his statement was I don't want people sitting around I might need. I will reassemble those positions quickly when needed. Instead, he gave us Pence in charge who, as far as I can tell, hasn't done a damn thing. Monitoring this situation back in December would have been a good plan, but we had nobody to monitor it.

If a Dr tells everyone to wear a diaper on their face, you better do it. Unless you know it’s a political show til Nov 3.

Trump’s mistake was following Fauci’s advice for so long. December? Seriously? The people to do that would be the CDC, not more Fed employees. I’m not saying Trump has done everything well. He hasn’t. But you are giving a pass to people who have made a career out of following and assessing things just like this while whining about what you think a guy that isn’t an expert should have done. It’s easy to arm chair QB now but go look back at what Fauci, Dems, MSM, etc were all saying in late January, February, even into March.

The guy is the president and he made a bone headed move. Remember all the Obama didn't plan for this crap that trump spewed? Well it turns out that he had and had the assets in place which Trump removed so he could golf nine holes. (I am assuming this particularly budget cut wouldn't have paid for 18)

And yes, December. I ordered N95 masks in January because I saw this coming. There was already a shortage and I wanted to make sure my parents would have them.

If you’re not an expert, listen to the experts instead of picking your favorite demon sex witch doctor and telling your base the experts are all lying

Our deaths per 100,000 is in line with what the rest of the world is seeing. Are there some countries better? Sure. Are there a lot that are worse? Definitely. As far as Trump eliminating the pandemic response team goes, you might want to read this as that claim isn’t accurate at all. Lastly, Obama’s response to H1N1 was basically to do nothing, other than to stop testing, which is what we should do now for most people. If you follow someone that did nothing how much faith would you have in their plan they leave behind, especially if you generally don’t share beliefs in how things should be done with that person? Hindsight is 20-20 and I’m sure Trump could have done some things differently but there’s no controlling this thing. It’s a virus and simply needs to run its course. All we are doing is dragging this out. At first I get it. We didn’t know what the hell we were dealing with but now we at least know enough to know that further shut downs, keeping kids out of school, and damaging the economy aren’t the answers.

He is not a practicing MD nor has he been since the early 80s.

He has been a government employee since then and mainly a researcher.

When you have been in government this long without practicing and you are going against actual practicing doctors on the front line (which he has) it does raise a concern that maybe we should be listening more to the actual practicing doctors who are dealing with it more so than this guy who is in an office somewhere in Washington and hasn't seen a single patient in 40 years.

I believe his opinion does matter but not as much as the actual doctors who are dealing with Covid right now.
