Trump promises and proposals tracking thread.

Thank you. If you haven't looked at our OP, please do. See what you think about this quote meeting a fair standard of promise/pledge/or proposal.

I don't personally think it does...but I am trying to not be the arbiter of what is/isn't on our list.
Well, Trump talks in circles, so it’s difficult to parse a “promise” from his verbal quotes, but I personally don’t think non-comital answers attempting to placate party/constituents releases an office-holder from “almost promises” on a campaign trail. If it does let them off the hook according to our standards, then our standards are not high enough. My 2 cents anyway.

For the child tax credit, the Trump campaign never released specifics (shocked that they lack detail… absolutely shocked), but both Vance and Trump have stated multiple times to the affirmative that they are in favor of expanding the child tax credit, and Vance floated a number of $5000 per child. Here is an AP article discussing:

That's the challenge with this effort. A lot is said. But what is considered a proposal/ pledge/ or promise is difficult.

Please look at op on this one too. See if it's up to the "standard".

I've tried to only include things which are a direct quote of DJT, on his official releases, or by his surrogates.
This is a pita to build and track already. For nothing more than laziness I dont wanna track 'almost-promises'.

I'll ask others to consider it, too.

Thanks.

I looked at the CTC when this thread started. It doesn't meet the threshold IMO

Please source, AV. Thanks.
“While Trump has said he will not try again to repeal the Affordable Care Act, his administration will face an immediate decision next year on whether to back an extension of enhanced premium subsidies for Obamacare insurance plans.”

Trump never said he’d replace Obamacare. He said it needed tweaked in areas
On November 29, 2023, he wrote, “I don’t want to terminate Obamacare, I want to REPLACE IT with MUCH BETTER HEALTHCARE. Obamacare Sucks!!!”

Found a video of Trump speaking about his "plan". In that moment he mentioned several tax items, including 15% corp tax for companies manufacture in USA.

@BigOrangeMojo, @volfanhill, @85SugarVol, @Septic, @volinbham want to pick your brains here. We are trying to be fair with djt (knowing he says a bunch of crap) with what constitutes a promise / pledge / proposal. Is a "plan" the same level of assurance as a promise or proposal? Or is a plan less of a standard of expectation to keep him to?
TIA.

plan = promise
For: 2
Against: 1

I think that to him, a plan means he's going to do it. "Concepts of a plan" means he doesn't even understand what the subject is.

Says "ALL" taxes, I wonder if that also includes payroll taxes for the employer.
I have no idea. Is it even possible to consider no income, SS, medicare taxes on overtime???

No tax on OT is on the OP list. If clarity is available, we can update.
