Trump promises and proposals tracking thread.

I assume the income offsets will still be in place if one takes SS early. I’m toying with the same idea as well. I’ve got a several years to ponder it.

if income offsets you mean the reduced benefits prior to "full retirement" then I assume so - if you mean they'll reduce it even further to cover the lost tax revenue then I'm gonna be hella pissed

SS will not last forever. Everyone who has paid it should be pissed.

Yes, I do mean the reduced benefits related to income. Also, not sure what they will do as it approaches 2033, but I’m sure whatever it is will pi$$ a lot of people off.

ya'll can dig through this for a while
This doesn't sound promissory to me:
“We did win two world wars from Fort Bragg. … So, this is no time to be changing names. … We’re going to do everything we can to get it back. We’re going to bring our country back,” Trump told the crowd that roared with applause and chanted, “Fight, fight, fight!”

15% tax rate may not qualify as promise, pledge, or proposal. Need something more conclusive than this (which is the only kind of stuff I can find.

Sep 6, 2024 — Former President Trump said he supports lowering the corporate tax rate only for companies that manufacture products in the United States.

Maybe 15% corporate rate for those who manufacture in the US.

I will keep looking. We got a while before inauguration. Maybe he will provide some clarity on some of this stuff.

I feel.like we got a great start on the list today.

i am devastated

I think its pretty clear he promised a 15% rate for those that manufacture in US.
Understood. I'm looking for that direct quote like we've used for other items.

Some reports have "promised" in the headline and the article is Trump speaking off top of his head.

Kinda like what star posted re fort bragg

Trump Plans To Withdraw US From Paris Climate Pact, Open Some National Monuments To Drilling: report

Nov 8 – U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team has prepared executive orders and proclamations on withdrawing from the Paris climate agreement and shrinking the size of some national monuments to allow more drilling and mining, the New York Times reported on Friday.

Trump is also expected to end the pause on permitting new liquefied natural gas exports to big markets in Asia and Europe and revoke a waiver that allows California and other states to have tighter pollution standards, according to the report.

Trump promised during his campaign to take many of the actions listed in the report. Karoline Leavitt, a spokeswoman for the Trump transition team, said in a response to a Reuters request that the results of Tuesday’s election gave him a “mandate to implement the promises he made on the campaign trail. He will deliver.”

Need to add to list

This thread, this list we are tracking is open to all. Including you. We're striving for clarity and agreement what is tracked and how to record the results.
Be a part of the process.
Kind of to lg's concern, will compromises be considered a failure or an accomplishment?

I guess it depends on where you sit (left or right).

When I posted this idea in the OT thread yesterday, the concept was to track the status of the promise as accurately as possible. Didn't want a simple pass / fail.
To answer your question, think of status possibilities such as:
Ignored
Attempted / died in house
Attempted / unconstitutional
completed partially
Completed compromised
Completed fully

Something along those lines which gives more accuracy to the end result. BTW, open to suggestions from everyone on best way to record status.
