This thread is to monitor the things Trump said he will do while campaigning and during his term. We will update it to show new proposals, progress, and results (or lack thereof).

To be accurate, this needs to be a community effort. If someone wanted to make this into a spreadsheet, I'm sure it would be a much better format.

For this, a proposal or promise would be anything offered in a definitive manner ( "I/ we will"..."going to"..."from day 1"...etc. NOT, "we should", "I think", "suggest"... "look into", etc) from Trump. (maybe need to include his cabinet, too?)

No, but banks should not be allowed to charge usurious rates of interest either. Somehow they should be limited in the amount of credit they can extend, or there should be an interest rate limit tied to the Fed. I get it that people need to pay their bills, and if they don't, that's on them, but raising the rates to 20+% after a period of time is criminal. Perhaps they should be required to cease extending credit after some period of time until the outstanding balances are at a certain point.

I know that sounds a bit left of center in what I am saying, but banks shackle people into slavery and tighten the shackles over time so that some can never get out.

Or like they need to do with student loans, just make it all bankruptable, and make those bankruptcies easier.

Go ahead and remove IRS funding, stock buyback, and corporate minimum tax. Those were all in IRA so removing Green New Deal IRA in full would cover those....

There could be a legitimate run on the bank (as it were.) No tax is equivalent to a 30% (depending on tax bracket) increase in payout, and I am a big believer in time/value of money. I wasn't going to take it until 72, but I might be in at 65 as well. I'll bet millions are thinking the same thing. I hope they think this one through.

You'd almost certainly would be better off taking SS at 62/65 and investing than waiting....

Realistically, taxing 50% (vs 85%) makes sense from policy perspective.

If I am a W2 employee, my employer gets a deduction for their portion. Once I draw on SS, I should pay tax on it. For my portion of SS as W2 employee, I never got a deduction for it so it should be tax free.

Same logic applies for SE people. They only got deduction for half, they should only pay tax on half when they draw...

When this type of tracknig was suggested yesterday, I thought we need to only have claims from legitimate political opponents (like harris campaign, Biden, etc).

I don't think stuff from, say, The View (separating marriages when an ethnic minority in relationship) should make the list.
