Trump promises and proposals tracking thread.

The no tax on overtime was definitely floated at his rallies.

Trump promised the greatest American party ever in Iowa, July 4, 2026. Does this have to be better than the party on 12/31/1999? I will let The VN Hauge decide.

Thank you. Volfanhill verified as well.

Would you mind looking at some of the others on the list in OP and search for verification?
I will. I have seen some that are posted but not on the list as well. As pointed out, some of the things he has said are in motion or pie in the sky. A catch all would be "I don't support Project 2025 and I have not read it. Another would be the 60 minute interview with Trump's ICE Holman

largest deportation in US history ...The largest massive deportation in the History of our country promise/platform. Watch the video 60 minutes. Pretty detailed regarding the costs of doing so.

There could be a legitimate run on the bank (as it were.) No tax is equivalent to a 30% (depending on tax bracket) increase in payout, and I am a big believer in time/value of money. I wasn't going to take it until 72, but I might be in at 65 as well. I'll bet millions are thinking the same thing. I hope they think this one through.
According to the current SS retirement benefits booklet about 40% of benefit recipients have to pay tax on those benefits.
You’ll have to pay taxes on benefits if you file a fed return as an individual and total income is over $25,000, joint return is income over $32,000. “If you are married and file separate returns, you probably will pay taxes on your benefits.”
Add in that if you take benefits before your full retirement age the max annual limit you can earn while receiving benefits in 2024 is $22,320 or they deduct $1 for each $2 you have above the annual limit.

Why is it horrible?

Should the person who works 40 hours at one job and 20 hours at another job be treated different than someone who works 60 hours at 1 job?

Same thing applies to tips

Should the high school kid at Chick Fil A be treated different than the high school carhop at Sonic?

Absolutely and that’s their choice.

Id rather cut taxes for both than have political parties and the IRS pick winners and losers.....

I’d rather have extended lunch breaks, personal days, sick days, etc but I’ll take keeping more of my money for working extended hours.

When this type of tracknig was suggested yesterday, I thought we need to only have claims from legitimate political opponents (like harris campaign, Biden, etc).

I don't think stuff from, say, The View (separating marriages when an ethnic minority in relationship) should make the list.

This is just me talking aloud. I will put on the list whatever the board says should be there.
I agree.

I'm really mystified by the Ukraine peace on the first day, deal. Putin says he's willing to talk about ending the war but of course he'll demand some chunk of Ukraine's territory for that, which Ukraine doesn't want to give. Seems like a Charlie Foxtrot incoming on that one.

This thread is going to be entertaining

Depends on how long Trump supporter remain in the "yeah, we agree, we are going to hold him to his promises" schtick, until they inevitably revert to "What he meant to say was" positions, to excuse both Trump having made the promises and their having voted for him based on the promises.
