I don't mind school led prayer. If the district is majority Muslim, or Jewish, or whatever, that district can agree to prayer in school which in line with the faith of the majority of enrollment. If, as a christian, I don't like it, i can move to a district of like-minded folks.

Sure, that solution is ideal. It may not be practical especially if an immigrant community of different faith settles in an area and they are poor 1st gen Americans. Those folks huddled together should have direction over their schools. LIkewise, prayer in their school should be an issue they decide upon.If the Muslims, Jews or Christian want to practice their faith in school , they should just build one . It will be easier and whole lot less lawsuits to cut into their funding . ( IMO )
.gov should not be involved in religion.
My view is that the .gov should be there to protect the minority from the majority and forcing prayer on a non-believer is .gov doing the exact opposite of protecting the minority.
.gov wouldn't be involved. the people of that district are involved and in control. how would a school sanctioned prayer "force" prayer on anyone? I've bowed my head and been silent during Jewish prayers. Their faith wasn't forced on me and being respectful didn't make me Jewish.
I did change the terms. Shouldn't have done that. I have no problem with either, though.School sanctioned is a different animal than school led as you originally posted. I have no problem with schools sanctioning prayer groups and letting them use the school grounds for meetings. I have a problem with the school designating a time for prayer and having staff lead it.

Back to your disagreement, how does a faculty member leading prayer harm the minority or force prayer on anyone?
This is also true and it was politically dumb. The evangelical community is solidly behind Trump. It's the moderates he should be focused on.This is dumb. Doing something like this only caters to one part of his constituency, while simultaneously alienating moderates.
State-sanctioned prayer is a big, fat NO from me.
