When Trump was still just a candidate, he mentioned expanding libel laws because the press was hurting his feelings.

His supporters loved it then and it doesn’t sound like they’re even less inclined now to realize how anti-free speech the orange man truly is.

They are all abusing the protections they receive under section 230 so I think it needs to be done away with or at least amended (by legislation not EO).

How are social media corporations different from others other than being able to discriminate against certain groups? As far as I know he hasn’t shut down The NY Times or CNN (they do enough to do that on their own) he just calls them out on their sensationalistic bs.

Because you are apparently against the executive action to stop discrimination yet other companies already adhere to discrimination laws. Let’s just do away with all of them. Let each and every company do whatever they want. I also find it ironic that the social media platforms can discriminate and silence free speech at will yet be used to ruin someone at the same time.

Hopefully the dont rule with him.

But if they did I bet you see them clarify their user agreement a good bit more, rebrand themselves a bit, to get right outside the new requirement and then largely keep going as they are.

It's a bit of both. It's always chicken and egg with the media and Trump. If it isnt Trump being dumb and the media responding, it's the media being dumb and Trump responding.

They both play the victim card and both sides supporters eat it up.

Maybe. Ask them if they’ve ever allowed some to bend the rules while not allowing others. Ask them if they’ve made emotional moderating decisions instead of following the black and white rules. It’s not just VN I’m sure every board has the same issues.

I was coming at it from the pure anarchy angle not the "the mods and Freak are restricting my rights" angle.

I dont know if Freak ever deleted it but the PF tab used to come with a warning. I am constantly disappointed we dont get to live up to that.

In my perfect PF world we actually have no holds bar debates on topics. But without the name calling and nonsense. I believe even the slightly relaxed modding we get in here limits the range of debate. Basically they treat us like kids, so we act like kids.
