Trump set to announce an executive order against Volnation and other social media platforms.

Trump is off the rails with this one.
So your opinion is Twitter can and should continue to get the protections of a platform while continuously editing, censoring, suspending and fact-checking people on the right while doing none of those things to people on the left?

I’ll wait and see on this Executive Order. I think there’s a lot more to this than what is being discussed in this thread.

In my opinion, Google, FB, YouTube, Twitter and other Social Media “platforms” have a much greater ability to affect an election than do any users or groups of users of these platforms.

Censorship of conservatives is happening on these platforms whether or not people want to believe it.

Cool story bro. So you're good with the elimination of Volnation moderators?

So you're good with folks saying basically ANYTHING they want on Volnation, and moderators having no right to remove offensive posts?
I think you’re taking this to the extreme and that isn’t likely to be what happens if this even goes forward. I’m betting that if VN has clear rules that are posted then they will be able to censor based on those rules. What they can’t do is censor some based on those rules and not others. Maybe I’m wrong and Trump has gone off the deep end on this one but I’m betting I’m not wrong.

Then create an alternate platform where that doesnt happen and profit.

The free market way, and what used to be the Conservative/Republican way.

Maybe I wasn’t clear.

Why should any company be protected (legal protection) as a platform when they’re acting as a publisher by editing content?

So basically what you're saying is you hate VN moderators.

When and where is the cutoff?
which cutoff?

and it also depends on if you actually mean "convserative" when you say "republican"; or if you mean "Party first".

because if you actually mean "conserative" and not "party", its over the line whenever the government steps in on private businesses.
if you mean "party" that line is somewhere very far left, in the shadow of the Democrats and liberals begging for more government.

"Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act immunizes online platforms for their users’ defamatory, fraudulent, or otherwise unlawful content."

The question posed is whether or not they are a platform if they do political censorship.

No. But trying to change it by EO is the wrong way to go.
