Trump Supporters Gathering in D.C. - Mayor Readies for Those ‘Seeking Confrontation’

I just saw on the news that DC has requested 50 caliber machine guns, but the request was denied. I can see WWIII starting if protestors were met with 50 cals.

Protestors? You mean those ultra violent right wing domestic terrorists with combat grade zip ties waiting to kidnap Congress and start the revolution?

"On the day of the riots, President Trump's words incited violence, which led to the injury and deaths of Americans - including a Capitol Police officer - the desecration of the Capitol, and briefly interfered with the government's ability to ensure a peaceful transfer of power. Such unlawful actions cannot go without consequence and the House has responded swiftly, and I believe, appropriately with impeachment."

-- Senator Lisa Murkowski, (Republican - Alaska), official statement

She didn't say whether or not she would be voting to convict Trump following his Senate Trial... but it would appear that she will be a "YEA" vote.

Well, she has to read her emails from her constituents and wet her index finger and put it up in the air to know where she stands on the issues.

You guys are solidifying many of my previously drawn conclusions.
You seem addicted to creating and then believing asinine conspiracies.

If this was truly an insurrection then why was not a single rioter armed?

No one except the police fired a single shot nor was a single molotov cocktail thrown or any incendiary device used.

I bet 8 out of 10 of the people there owned guns so why did no one bring theirs or use theirs if it was truly an insurrection?

I believe it was just a bunch of idiots who got caught up in the moment and went mob mentality. They should still be charged for trespassing in forbidden areas such as the chamber but labeling it terrorism is over kill I believe.

What is frightening is if this truly had been an insurrection and only 10 of them had weapons we could easily be watching news coverage for almost every single Congress person's funeral. That is the scary part.

A true act of violence that day would have had very little resistance.

The question is why was there so little resistance that day????

Edit: by "this" i mean NEO s post above. Tried to go back and quote it again and it will not let me. Kinda makes my post hard to understand without it...

^^^ this. All of it. These questions should have already been answered.

I think most people, from the half of this country who didn't vote for Biden , have these same questions...as well as pretty much every American when it comes to asking "How in the Hell?!?" Did a small group of unarmed people roll up in the Capitol like they did? How could that ever, ever happen these days? Even if things were that lax in the 90s...pre 9.11...and were still somehow that weak after all the riots by BurnLootMurder..... how in the Hell was security that deficient after an unprecedented extremely contested election left at least half this country believing that election day fraud was rampant and Congress was on that very day counting the votes to transfer power to a fraud of a creepy geezer and his socialist , garbage , "only selected bc she is a double-minority," vice president/in waiting.... HOW on THAT day, with a permitted, scheduled HUGE rally a couple blocks away...could anyone EVER make it into the Capitol???

Insanity. Which in 2020 and now 2021 is just plain "normal". Keep telling myself that this clown show of a reality is actually real. Unbelievable. The day this country elected Hussein for the 2ND TIME...I thought we had reached the bottom of the barrel....2020 was just waiting to show up and make that thought foolish....
