Trump vs Pelosi and Schumer

Did you read the article?

The opening paragraph states: "Construction of the border wall is underway, as several projects begin to take shape along the Southwest border. One project will begin within days, according to Ronald Vitiello, U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s acting deputy commissioner."

Are you against securing our borders and for open borders?

I can't understand why anyone would be in favor of illegal immigration. It's totally illogical.
The wall is not the answer... and when you get right down to it, there should be nothing wrong with holding Trump to his "Mexico is paying for the wall... it's like, 100%." campaign rhetoric. He only said it on every campaign stump - and continued to say it even in 2018 mid-term stumps across the country!

You would think that these liberals would worry about the effect that a large influx of people would have on our water supply in the Southwest and West. The effect on the carbon footprint of our country. People from south of the border using more natural resources after they migrate here…...gas, electricity, heating oil, etc. They probably aren't using as much where they are now.

Does it make you sad that the dealmaker in chief is failing spectacularly by his own words?

His future self hates his bloviating past.

"Yes, if we don't get what we want...I will shut down the government. ... I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down. I'm not going to blame you for it." -Donald "the amateur" Trump

Can’t believe he doesn’t just make up legislation and say it needs to be approved before we can see what it is.

Do you get those fake news memes sent to your AOL or your yahoo account?

On a scale of one to Trump getting punked by Pelosi and Shumer today, how mad are you that Trump can't seem to not be stuffing his foot into his mouth?

In September 2013, Trump declared,
Problems start from the top and they have to get solved from the top and the president’s the leader. And he’s got to get everybody in a room and he’s got to lead. [Obama] doesn’t do that. He doesn’t like doing that. It’s not his strength. And that’s why you have this terrible situation…. It’s very embarrassing worldwide.

He added that no one cares who has what power in Congress, because
when they talk about the government shutdown, they’re going to be talking about the president of the United States, who the president was at that time.

Your attempt at irrelevant deflection and redirection is noted.

How is it not relevant? If border security legislation was drawn up and said it needed to be passed before we could see what’s in it the dims would throw a temper tantrum for the ages. When you sit in front of them and try to lay it on the table they do the same.

Is this your idea of a good argument? Do you really not see how you're trying to justify bad behavior with bad behavior? I know toddlers who have better reasoning skills.

If the new USMCA significantly closes the trade deficit with Mexico then he was correct.

Closing a trade deficit is not the same as them paying for the wall.

Mexico paying for the wall and closing the trade deficit is the same as Mexico paying for the wall and closing a trade deficit.

I watched the replay of it at my local watering hole with 3 buddies. Two trump voters and two who did not. Zero Hillary votes at the table. Three of the four of us, including me, thought Trump got owned by Chuck. They all looked stupid.

Also, this, which is a point Pelosi made.

She kept asking why the House Republicans don't just vote and pass whatever Trump wants.

Wouldn't make a difference if they did pass something. It takes 60 votes to get through the Senate before it gets to his desk..

That's not why it's not gone to the floor. They would pass it if they had the votes. You think they want to hang around at Christmas time?

Why isn't the wall the answer?

Other than all of the liberal politicians and media talking heads saying it isn't.

Why wouldn't the wall work?

Building the wall is significantly cheaper than 1 year of annual government spending on illegal immigrants.

The flow of illegal immigrants is only going to continue to increase until we have a permanent solution like the border wall and a fully staffed border patrol in place.

Link below has some eye opening cost numbers for illegal immigrants.
